I’d assume they have general security as in look at where they live it’s basically in secure compounds that means there is security there all the time. The schools royals and celebs attended again will have some sort of basic security.

Kate was pictured driving the school run, bus up her bum one detail officer as passenger.

Id assume when shopping even then is likely one waiting in her car or also “shopping”.

Just real security blends in on a day to day basis it isn’t closing roads and flashing lights.

Obviously at times roads are closed and the lights come on but that’s for big things generally and events.

Struggles with what? They can pay for private security if they want to. They can't have official security provided by the Met because that is at the discretion of RAVEC, and no-one else, not even 'the richest family in Britain', can demand it if RAVEC doesn't think it's justified.

Charles, William and Kate (and the kids) get 24 hour state funded security. The rest of the working royals get it only when they’re at official functions.

Andrew, Beatrice and Eugenie also used to get state funded security, despite not being working royals, but now they don’t.

I do have some sympathy with him. How was the risk considered so severe before he left that he was placed in the highest possible threat category, and downgraded to case by case basis after leaving. I can see his point - the threat remains the same.

Especially if they stop telling everyone where they live, when they'll be there etc. and hire a security team that realises that term time traffic is worse than holidays....
