To think that Harry and his kids should have security

Frankly I don’t want another year of wondering if Harry will attend another event or stay in a palace or will or will not get security etc.

For the sake of our sanity the matter needs to be resolved.

Harry could become a working royal and Meghan could go back to being an actress - they are then both happy

Harry and the kids get protection and Meghan can pay for her own

If Harry and the PoW could make up it would make next year much better ( 30 year anniversary)

Meghan needs to stop trading ( in my opinion) on the memory of Diana ( if it is true she wanted to do a speech re Diana etc) Leave Diana to the boys only.

There are innocent children involved and they do need protecting.

Harry needs to change his attitude and stop fighting the system for the sake of the nations sanity. Meghan has to realise that she upset many of us re the courtesy thing etc and the attack on the POW and POW.

The POW needs to realise that Harry can’t steal his thunder.

Everyone needs to think of King Charles who frankly needs to have a break from all this.

I am not a Meghan supporter or a bot. I just can’t bear another 3 months of frenzied speculation. My head is done in.

They wanted to go away and they should have stayed away.
They are completely not getting that in general people in the UK have more to worry about than who wants to pay for them.

BunfightBetty · 15/09/2026 12:48

They're at no more risk than the kids of other super-wealthy people here, like oligarchs. They don't get armed security from the state, because they are private citizens.

And they are by and large anonymous compared to Archie and Lilibet.

Bogstandardname · 15/09/2026 15:45

No because they don't help themselves by telling the world what they are doing and when they're doing it.

Chickadiddy · 15/09/2026 15:46

The OP sounds absolutely unhinged.

" For the sake of our sanity.."
" My head is done in"
😂😂😂

sesquipedalian · 15/09/2026 15:47

OP, nobody asked these grifters to return, and they knew the score. I am a monarchist, but I begrudge paying even a farthing towards this entitled pair, who are falling over themselves to stay in the news and do everything in their power to show that they need “protection”. Princess Anne and her children don’t have it, so why should they? I know I’m not alone in wishing they’d just go back to Montecito, so we would never have to hear about them again.

JohnofWessex · 15/09/2026 15:50

Ignoring any other issues

Harry is a potential security risk as he is a member of the Royal Family. This is as a result of his birth and cannot be changed.

It would not change if he was a working royal, vicar, army officer, went to work in the City etc.

So for that reason alone he should get an appropriate level of security either provided or paid for.

The End

Ponderingwindow · 15/09/2026 15:51

They have security. I am skeptical of claims for the need for armed security, but leave that to the experts to determine.

The real issue is that either they or the people they hire are just incapable of doing any planning. They could have dropped the children off early every day before the rush. They could have picked a different school with an easier traffic layout. This shouldn’t be this difficult.

Didimum · 15/09/2026 15:53

Crudd99 · 15/09/2026 13:08

If security is that bad in the uk why aren't celebrities, billionaires etc being murdered and kidnapped everyday? Harry wants someone else to pay because it's always been paid for. If it's so dangerous here why come back? Why doesn't he keep a low profile for the sake of his children's safety?

He cannot keep a low profile. He’s Prince Harry. Nor can his children.

Harry is specifically fighting for armed police protection for his children, not any paid for security. He has also offered to cover the cost of armed MET police for the purpose.

It’s not about it happening ‘every day’, it’s about risk. And yes plenty of public figures have been attacked and/or murdered: Jo Cox, Ann Widdecombe, David Amness, Stephen Timms, Jill Dando, Klaudia Zakrzewska, Mark Cavendish, Ashley Cole, Amie Khan, Michelle Keegan, Megan McKenna, Frank Lampard.

Kidnap plots against public figure children: Brooklyn Beckham, Tamara Eccleston.

Is that enough or does only a celebrity a day matter?

bananaobama · 15/09/2026 15:58

Perhaps he should go to court and let a judge decide

oh wait

Peter and Zara’s kids are not the monarch’s grandchildren so it’s not a like for like comparison.

Er, they were the last monarch's grandchildren?

And they are by and large anonymous compared to Archie and Lilibet.

Because most people would be able to identify Archie and lillibet in person would they?

Not like their faces are splashed around unless the parents share them. Could be any two random ginger kids to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would say I could have walked by them but I’ve not been to the cots for a while.

Much like I tbh I doubt I’d spot little Louie in the wild just a random brown haired child climbing the tree with the scouts.

If they stopped advertising where they lived and posting even side shots of the kids online the risks would be even lower.

It’s why the pikkle cottage lady has moved and says she won’t post the outside of the house anymore.

The Beckhams sold their kids souls and whereabouts constantly.

The Ramsey children now mostly adults I couldn’t say I would clock or know where they lived. Unless I went off to Google it.

Bloody even Oliver’s kids zero clue what they look like work school or live. Because again the parents didn’t share it all.

KarenNextDoor · 15/09/2026 16:08

Yes but only if he pays for it. They are private citizens now, their choice

Smokeywater · 15/09/2026 16:11

The RF would get slated for spending tax payers money on them so can’t arrange protection -it would cost 100s of Ks or more- think 4 full time police for each to have full time cover

OhNoooooooooooooooo · 15/09/2026 16:13

Holeymoley28 · 15/09/2026 12:49

No they should get the security that those who deal with it deem they need. Not just give in to a mantrum.

How does a security team fuck up a school run so badly the kids have been removed from school in 2 days?

If you’re that worried about privacy and again security while post videos outing your exact location.

It’s all a plot to try and get IPP back.

Funny enough other working royals manage to go shopping and do the school runs without an entire motorcade or being papped constantly.

Only they ever get a drama.

One thing is quite funny. It's like they didn't realise they'd be more traffic when school starts. How thick do they have to be.

My head isn’t done in but I have always thought that the security thing was a big issue.

All of Harry’s life he was brought up that security was the most important thing in the world.

He was put in a completely untenable position when the monarchy would not speak out against the media “Monkey” picture after Archie was born was a stand out opportunity for the Royal family to speak out against what was going on.

Obviously Harry completely lost the plot after all of that but there are aspects that he was right on and the security in the UK and the palace feeding the media were two of them.

None of this whatsoever makes it the children's choice to not be in need of higher level security. You can think Harry and Megan are bonkers all you like – that's still not their children's fault.

Harry and Megan have not disclosed their location or kids' school, it has been revealed through a mixture of public sightings, security disclosures, media tracked flight paths and assumed family proximity.

And none of this also makes a difference to the fact that Harry has offered to pay for the armed security he is seeking.

Do you really think someone with the capability and intent to harm a child would be as laissez faire as you in not knowing who they are or trying to find out – or even caring if they 100% had the right kids?

Just as an aside I heard Jamie Oliver on the radio and he was talking about how one of his daughters hadn’t joined them on holiday as she was completing her nursing training. I thought it was lovely. How well she’s done to do something normal and have her own interest in something.

The video she posted on the lake gave away their location. For a couple talking about keeping children offline and safety on the net enough is posted to locate them from landmarks such as the bridge on the lake.

crazeekat · 15/09/2026 16:26

They are still the kings grandchildren. They are innocent kids that some nutter will try to get to for their two mins of fame. Of course they need security. He is still the son of the king and didn’t ask for this mad life. Why would the palace not provide this just cos they don’t work? They are royal by blood. They other royals are not anywhere as famous as Harry’s kids. The mad pack photographers will be doing their rounds to get the first pics, yes the same frenzied press who stood almost 30 years ago and let their mother/grandmother die for a photoshot. Yes the country and palace should protect them .this is Diana’s grandchildren.

Mermaidmusing · 15/09/2026 16:28

They are private citizens, they already have private security. Like many very rich people. They are not providing any kind of d of public service or duty, so why should the public purse pay a penny towards their security?

Harry said last year he could never envisage bringing his family back to the UK, due to the security situation, yet all
of a sudden, here they are. The usual bonkers, attention-seeking lunacy from this pair of grifters.

If they don’t feel safe in the UK, there are literally hundreds of other countries in the world where I’m sure they could lead a highly secure life under the radar. But of course, that’s not what they actually want.

BTW, who exactly do they feel
under threat from? No one’s interested in them.

Country roads at that allegedly. Tractors the odd run away sheep or cow maybe as well. 😂

Why would the press be anymore crazy to their children at school than the wales children? Who have been papped how many times in all these years going to school?

Anyone would think Harry was next in line by the craziness people seem to think would happen if he doesn’t have 24/7 armed security rather than just general security and armed when required.

She knew exactly what she was doing. They will only be happy when there is a security ‘breach’ of some sort, so that they can cry about being left unprotected. Absolutely toxic pair of narcissists.

Askandyforcompo · 15/09/2026 16:30

I agree. I'm very 'off with their heads' but honestly it's not his fault he is the son of the King and therefore is at more risk and by association so are his wife and child.

He doesn't have to be a working royal he should get it by dint of who he is. Just like ex PM's still get security.

It's impossible for him to pay for security at the same level as it wouldn't be armed.
