Until it’s so great people severely damage their mental health or kill themselves, anyway

Yes it's a balancing act. In this case I think her behaviour (not the defecation but the spreading it everywhere) warrants it.

NancyThompson · 15/09/2026 17:10

Backedoffhackedoff · 15/09/2026 16:28

What difference does it make? She’s still being publicly shamed

Which is a reasonable response to someone covering things in their own shit that other people have to touch.

Warrants her killing herself?!?

No, warrants being publicly called out. Or do you think no behaviour, no matter how anti social, should be challenged because suicide?

FirmSnake · 15/09/2026 17:15

Backedoffhackedoff · 15/09/2026 16:59

So if she does a Jason ardy that’ll be the ultimate consequence for shame then? We shouldn’t consider whether it’s sensible to protect humans from this level of public shame, we should encourage it?

Do shitty things, expect people to have opinions.
What they do next is on them. Don't do the crime as they say...

MrsKiplingsSauna · 15/09/2026 17:16

If the other contenders didn't complain and still used the equipment, that shits on them

I don’t think me, sat in London on my arse, is a useful additional in adding to, or calling for, the public shaming of an Australian athlete who competed in a sports events event in China, no.

do you think your challenging is doing anything apart from adding to the clicks, algorithms and coverage that a human person at the centre of it will see?

how does anyone deal with that?

The other option is someone like JW spreading faeces (liquid) over items, and flooring, with which the other competitors come into close contact. Or even to the extent of inhaling droplets. That could severely damage their physical health. Even life threatening under the right conditions, if with infection.

If you throw body fluids at someone, I think it can be classed as assault. JW was depositing her faeces (it may be inadvertent or/and a pattern) around the course with which her opponents had to come into close contact.

Now, if the poster who said they had seen JW excrete liquid faeces was watching a previous competition (it wasn’t this one considering the timeline), that means that JW is repeatedly doing this. I imagine it is a bit of a handicap for the other competitors. Not to mention the hygiene and contamination aspect.

Does JW spread her faeces (like slurry) around all the events in which she competes, I wonder? How about wearing an adult nappy then?

Perhaps by reflecting on their behaviour and making different choices next time? Or should we just continue pretending it OK to spread shit on stuff?

I have crohns and am sadly no stranger to continence related accidents. When they happen do you think I should a) take some time to sort myself out even if it disrupts my work/plans/evening out? Or would you be happy for me to just continue with my day and fuck everyone else? Seriously?

Jaxhog · 15/09/2026 17:23

KidsAndDogsGalore · 15/09/2026 15:25

You are joking, right?

My point is - would we still have been so critical?

MummyJ36 · 15/09/2026 17:28

I was so shocked when I saw this. This is absolutely disgusting for everyone involved. Most people would feel shame if they did this publicly (unless they were very ill - in which case they shouldn’t be doing a competition). They definitely need a rule moving forward about not being able to continue if you literally shit your pants and subject everyone to that for the remainder of the competition 🤮

I have ibs and have to take a change of clothes to work and have constant anxiety about shitting myself. I would be mortified.

The other option is the organisers stopped the event, which is their legal and ethical responsibility

How did you watch it a few weeks ago if it happened last weekend 🤔

When she shat herself in the race? That wasn't last weekend! I remember it, I was away for the weekend and saw it then.

We must be talking at cross purposes then.

She’s not going to get a next time is she? The woman’s life and career as she knows it is over.

have you seen the ray gun documentary? She came through the other end eventually (albeit with a changed life) but it was very, very seriously damaging for her and could’ve gone the other way.

The race was in Beijing the weekend just gone. I would edit your first post as it’s clearly not about this incident.

Why shouldn't her career be over? Do you really think she deserves another opportunity to shit on stuff?
Would your employer invite you back to poo everywhere?

Her career isn’t over, don’t be so dramatic. Her responses yesterday were very “zero fucks given”

I’ve seen people running marathons who have very clearly shat themselves. That’s what happens with too many energy gels!

People’s stomachs have been reacting to hard activity for way longer than gels have been around.

I'm pretty confident that she will in fact have another bowel movement. Let's hope she handles it appropriately, whether during a sporting or alternative career.

CandyCrushLevel14809 · 15/09/2026 17:41

NancyThompson · 15/09/2026 17:09

That is different, imo, as it's not getting on anyone else.

Please do not compare our world record holder runner stopping to relieve herself on the side of the road with this incident. It is not comparable.

Cadeaukatze · 15/09/2026 17:42

I think if you know this might happen you should make sure you have a couple of pairs of knickers on and maybe a big sanitary towel. It wouldn't be very nice if you were having a heavy period and bled everywhere but poo is a whole degree worse. Yes I think they should have stopped her and everyone else and cleaned up.

notacooldad · 15/09/2026 17:48

I think she should have cleaned up her own mess!

well it may surprise you, but she’s not in control of whether or not her career is over.

lets meet back here in a year to see whether poo girl is still competing. She’s more likely to go the way of other virally publically shamed people
