I can't imagine having to get on the rowing machine or down on the carpet after her. A PP mentioned period blood - I wouldn't mind so much coming into contact with that as it isn't normally infectious. Liquid diarrhoea could be from exertion or it could be one of a number of nasty bugs which shouldn't be spread around the other competitors. Really puts my friend's dog having a shit in the ring at Crufts into perspective 😄

Some of you can't read, as usual.

NO ONE is shaming her for the accident.

We ARE shaming her for carrying on and putting the other competitors and staff at risk.

What difference does it make? She’s still being publicly shamed

Themsofcoffee · 15/09/2026 16:28

Theres been a lot of criticism of the organisers but seriously, she should have stopped straight away, or excused herself before it happened.

Why she thought it was good to continue i don't know.

you do understand the evolutionary purpose of shame??

i.e. when a member of the group has done something that neither benefits them or the wider group and in fact their actions are net a detriment.

so shame in that context is a healthy emotional response for the individual to have... assuming one has capacity to feel, self-awareness, ability to join the dots and self-reflect... in order to learn from the experience and change their behaviour in future similar situations

From your posts, I assume you compete in extreme Hyrox and therefore should consider fishing waders and a Biohazard suit or two for your next event

AprilMizzel · 15/09/2026 16:37

Tunnel vision extreme focus and a general lack of shame ?

It is extremely odd behavior from her and I think most people would have stopped sort some help or offical input to sort the situation.

But even so the organizers should have had a plan for it that officals knew and stepped in - because they were ones with a duty of care to other competitors and staff there.

You'd hope competators would have common decency but clearly that can not be relied upon - so organises should have had a plan.

Of course it makes a difference. Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Having an accident, in itself, does not place others at risk of a biohazard. Selfishly carrying on, does.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 15/09/2026 16:39

@AprilMizzel extreme focus is the only explanation I could think of.

That all you are doing is push push push at the sport. No thinking, no reflecting, just driving forward regardless of any distractions.

As she should be. She shat all over shared exercise equipment. 100% shame worthy.

Exactly, as a decent human you don't expose others to your waste. My cat has the decency to bury his own shit.

in that case, whatever's in her "pre-workout" mix to bring focus to blot that out is a lot more powerful than mine and I've taken some strong shit

alcovecupboards · 15/09/2026 16:47

Jesus those images should be blurred. Though I'm old enough to remember Paula Radcliffe doing similar and I've never taken to her.

Electricsausages · 15/09/2026 16:51

Filthy biatch
should have gone home 🤮

Ihateboris · 15/09/2026 16:52

She basically acted like a human skunk in scaring away her competitors... but she took it to a whole new level!

‘Human skunk’ made me laugh so much.
Never have I been so glad that I’m not sporty.

You think world wide public shaming is a good tool for this do you?

So if she does a Jason ardy that’ll be the ultimate consequence for shame then? We shouldn’t consider whether it’s sensible to protect humans from this level of public shame, we should encourage it?

Wheesht2 · 15/09/2026 10:27

I think it was right to let her finish the competition but going forward a rule should be put in place for health and safety.

Sorry if someone has answered this, I do Hyrox, Hyrox rules already state that she and any equipment she used should have been removed.

Livpool · 15/09/2026 17:03

It’s absolutely disgusting! Who does that?! Well her, obviously 🤢

RubyMentor · 15/09/2026 17:06

CheeseyNacho · 15/09/2026 12:36

I’d - maybe - have more sympathy for her if it was the first time it had happened to her… but it wasn’t, but she didn’t win the other time it happened so it didn’t make the news.

OMG she's done this more than once??? Dirty cow - actually that's an insult to cows

And so? Shame is a very useful emotion for regulating social behaviour.

Notasbigasithink · 15/09/2026 17:08

If it was her period, would you still be so 'disgusted'?!
Looks like diarrhoea to me. I'm sure if she could have chosen between publicly shitting herself or gaining notoriety for winning and being the best at her sport, she would have chosen the latter.
She will be forever known as the athlete that shit herself..........

Until it’s so great people severely damage their mental health or kill themselves, anyway

I think Paula something did this on a London Marathon. Pretty gross. 🤢

That is different, imo, as it's not getting on anyone else.
