She should of been made to quit. It would of put off her competitors, not to mention the smell of shit everywhere... if she knew running makes her shit herself she should of prepared and worn pads or something!

There will be people making notes and actually planning to exploit this 'technique' to give themselves an unfair advantage. Why bother training yourself to become the best, when you can just win by default, by eliminating any possible competition from being anywhere near to you?

Who would actually want to win, once it ceases to be a serious sporting challenge and just becomes a niche sideshow for pervs?

I can sort of understand in a marathon because the only way people will come into contact with the mess is maybe it going on their shoe, in this case it was smeared over the rowing machine, the carpet and the other bits of equipment.

There are people online trying to compare it to women getting their period. It's nothing like that!

Yes but she doesn’t have any. You can’t force that on someone obsessed with winning the competition. So the organisers have to- you know organise.

I’d - maybe - have more sympathy for her if it was the first time it had happened to her… but it wasn’t, but she didn’t win the other time it happened so it didn’t make the news.

This is revolting and horrifying. However I doubt she did it deliberately, intense exercise diverts blood away from the digestive system and can lead to an involuntary voiding of the bowels, I think it's connected to the fight or flight response.

Hyrox is nothing like a marathon. All the equipment is shared. She was lying on the floor doing burpees and someone else a few metres back was having to follow her in the same lane to do their burpees. When her shit was all over the floor! And she got it all over the equipment other people use. She should have pulled out and if not, the race organisers absolutely should have pulled her. She probably won because the other competitors were struggling to compete in and around all her excrement.

It’s ridiculous, of course she should have been stopped, it’s only a bloody gym competition that means zero in the grand scheme of life. Proper competitors accept sometimes things happen that you can’t finish an event. But then most people who I know who do hyrox, it does seem to drive them a bit demented

I don’t think anyone is suggesting she deliberately shit herself. She did however deliberately continue and share that shit with others.

I know this does happen to serous runners, my sister's friend has it happen a lot, even if she takes immodium
So this lady had an accident, but there should be some way of clearing it for other contenders, maybe a shit area that's separate from other equipment?
