I think the health of her competitors are in greater risk because of JW. If JW is the only one this repeatedly happens with, it begs a few questions. And some measures to make sure she doesn’t repeatedly spread faeces.

As a repeat offender, if she doesn’t wear a nappy or some such, I think she should have been eliminated.

The organisers can and should spring into action to stop what seems to be a pattern.

Poo girl comments are pathetic and juvenile. I doubt she did it on purpose ffs and why should it end her career?! I completely agree the other competitors shouldn’t have had to put up with it, for obvious health and safety reasons. But she isn’t the first athlete to have an embarrassing bodily malfunction and she won’t be the last.

There are many Hyrox competitions. She may have also ‘shat herself in the race’ in the one you say you watched a few weeks ago. If so, she has repeated form for this. The one people are talking about is where she contaminated the equipment, and floor, which other competitors had to deal with took place in Beijing.

Look up Hyrox Beijing 2026, and you will see the dates on which it took place. P.s. it was last weekend.

the difference between the Paula R ones and the cycling etc to this woman is they were outdoors, in the middle of a multi km race. The toileting options were very limited and possibly non-existent at the exact time they needed to go. Whereas this woman was indoors in a sporting facility -there would have been loos and even showers within a few metres of her.

Different levels:

Taking a poo at the side of the road during a road race, not great... but only yourself in the proverbial sh1t.

Taking a poo on your bike during a bike race, where you stay in your own bike, not great... but only yourself in the proverbial sh1t.

Taking a poo on equipment and passing it off to someone else to use.. without them even being aware of the potential awfulness... completely disgusting, unhealthy, and absolutely morally bankrupt... and anything else revolting you can think of.

You sometimes hear about what sound like ridiculous laws - small towns in the USA seem to be particularly ripe for them - but you have to remind yourself that, way back when the law was originally made, it must have been because something that should have been plain common sense to everybody apparently wasn't to at least one person.

Don't ask why on earth some deranged council saw the need to pass a law banning people from putting a pet otter in the baby seat of a shopping trolley whilst performing as a one-man-band and tunelessly singing Christmas carols at a deafening volume in the middle of June; rather ask which deranged person started doing exactly that at some point in history... and refused to desist when repeatedly asked nicely, by replying "There's no law against it!"

It was not sportsmanlike to continue, and put others at risk. She should have withdrawn on this occasion

There will always be another opportunity to compete and for her to redeem herself, where other competitors aren't forced to literally deal with her shit.

I think it’s disgusting. Yes it’s happens, runner’s tummy is a thing but to allow her to remain when others had to share equipment is awful. It’s a biohazard and it would make me question her win - it must have been very off putting for the other contestants. Incredibly selfish of her to continue and unbelievably irresponsible for the organisers to allow her to.

Other competitors will have trained for this ...why should they have had to stop their race and affect their time because she was too selfish to stop to go clean herself up?

Its unfortunate for her that she had an accident, but it was unbelievably selfish to continue with no consideration for anyone else behind her in the race. I actually can't comprehend that she thought her actions acceptable

Given others had to use the equipment she should absolutely been told to stop. This was not a neat little poo but full blown runs. Absolutely minging.

What I don't understand is someone not wanting to stop doing a competition in this situation, I would feel totally humiliated and would have to leave and clean up (and not leave the house for sometime). It's not 'normal', it's filthy and personally degrading.

This is how I feel.

Carrying on with poo running down your leg, where others can see, smell and (very likely) end up in physical contact with your poo...I can't make sense of what she was thinking.

I can't imagine the humiliation of very obviously and publicly soiling myself, let alone thinking "ah, I'm winning the event so I'll carry on" .

I'm not saying its acceptable to shame someone for soiling themselves btw, incontinence can happen, I just find it incomprehensible that she didn't immediately want to take herself out of the public situation and clean up in private.

And being filmed where pretty much the world can see it...not just people connected to the event but everyone.

I found her statement really well written and genuine.

I hope this is now the end of it for her, she has done the right thing and I hope she finds peace and moves forwards from this, putting it behind her
