DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

Yousay55 · 06/08/2026 22:48

My dh goes to bed in the same pjs every night -washes them once or twice a week and doesn’t wear anything underneath. We’re on holiday and hasn’t washed them in a week now.
I think it’s pretty awful to wear the same ones without washing them and can’t imagine putting on the same pjs at the end of the day. We’ve had a debate and he thinks it’s what all men do. I think I’m going to buy him a pair to wear everyday day so this doesn’t keep happening!

If they don’t smell, I can’t see the issue tbh.

They will smell though!

Personally I get up at 2am to shower and change my pjs before sleeping for the rest of the night. Can’t imagine how gross I would feel otherwise 🤢

This is insane

JoeSikoraTommysStory · Yesterday 02:31

Stick him on a 90° wash or LTB there are no other options.

JMSA · Yesterday 02:37

I’m not wasteful when it comes to clothing and will wear most things more than once, including bras.
However I draw the line at trousers that, ahem Blush, have close contact with the crotch area, such as leggings or pj bottoms. Jeans are different, because they’re thicker, if that makes sense?! Hmm

I wear my PJs for about a week before putting through the wash. Never met a bloke that wears PJs - they all seem to sleep in the buff.

A week?? Have you gone completely nose-blind?

FiveShelties · Yesterday 02:43

Fantastic responses. Great thread😂

Emptyandsad · Yesterday 02:48

At home I sleep naked on a lilo floating in a paddling pool full of dettol

Obviously this isn't practical when travelling (duh 🙄) so when I'm away I have a pair of waterproof trousers; before I put them on I spray dettol all over my grim arse and ball-sack

Job's a good'un...

Definitely.. I really wasn't expecting it to go the way it did at all 😂& to echo a pp yes we really need the laughter emoji back.. please! For Christ's sake PLEASE!!!!

But where is the problem in using 😂😂?

Or even 😹?

Sereine · Yesterday 02:55

What?

You go to bed in pjs, sleep until 2am, get up to shower and fresh pjs on, then back to sleep?

Have I got this wrong or are you bonkers?

Have you taken the entire thread this seriously?

Sereine · Yesterday 02:58

I don't sleep, because I never get out of this bath of disinfectant,

I sleep standing up in the corner of the bedroom to avoid having any detrimental effect on the bed sheets.

(I do topple over occasionally - I think it's probably where expression 'falling asleep' originates from.)

BEST thread I have read in ages 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Have to say, it's the no pants thing that makes it grim. Otherwise, with pants, twice a week/every 2 days should be often enough imho.

hangonwhilstioverthinkthis · Yesterday 04:05

@LemonSnail @Melarus @Redredrumdedrum I needed this chuckle tonight 🙏🏼😁 wonderful thread!

Dliplop · Yesterday 04:14

I can see letting it get to 7 days on vacation, otherwise you need to pack more or do laundry. At home 2-3 nights, 4 is a bit gross but 🤷🏻‍♀️. Pack him a second pair next holiday.

You slob. I go out each evening and buy a set of bed linen from John Lewis, so that I can have genuinely fresh linen every night. Then I spray the bed frame with Dettol and swallow a pint of warm antiseptic before bed

Edited

I normally sleep for an hour or two and then drag the whole bed out into the paddock and burn it, while the servants install my new bed with fresh bedding.

Then I take a bath in disinfectant before a shower, dry off and into bed for another hour, with the sequence repeated several times until dawn.

I don't know how people can feel remotely clean, stewing in the same filthy bed for an entire night.

OP, this is gross. Unless you wear underwear beneath them, you should change your pjs bottoms daily. You wouldn’t wear the same pair of knickers for a week.

This!!

I've never met a man who wears pyjamas.. Naked or boxers.

I've got the ick 🤮

How can a man wearing pyjamas give you the 'ick' more than a man sleeping naked with dirty genitals and bum exposed?! Because even showering daily, this time of year especially that area gets sweaty and also genitals and bum are only clean after a shower until the next wee/poo/sexual act 🤮

Never heard of a man ever wear PJ’s to bed (unless maybe over 80)

Really? You have cloth next to your skin, soaking up all those body fluids!

I am washed down by a pressure hose and then double wrapped in clingfilm by carers wearing CSI security suits.

Dreadful standards, what is the world coming to ! I have a seamstress who makes me a fresh pair of organic cotton pyjamas every hour.

i think that’s for the sex board 😏🤣😜

I think OP has gone to burn her house down 🤣

Datgal · Yesterday 04:34

Bloody hell fire 🤣. No issues for me if he's clean otherwise. And I like a nice clean crotch smell tbh. Quite earthy....akin to the smell of a puppy dogs ear.

dizzydizzydizzy · Yesterday 04:48

Comedy gold! Thank you @Redredrumdedrum@CatsLikeBoxes@LemonSnailI have read the whole thread and LOLed!

love from woman who wears her PJs for up to a week with no knickers but does shower immediately before bed.

Echointhedarkness · Yesterday 04:54

In all our married life, my DH never owned a pair of pyjamas.
