DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

My dh goes to bed in the same pjs every night -washes them once or twice a week and doesn’t wear anything underneath. We’re on holiday and hasn’t washed them in a week now.
I think it’s pretty awful to wear the same ones without washing them and can’t imagine putting on the same pjs at the end of the day. We’ve had a debate and he thinks it’s what all men do. I think I’m going to buy him a pair to wear everyday day so this doesn’t keep happening!

Probably because it touches your body. Anything that touches your body on mn is gross and must be washed immediately or thrown away.

Ahh of course. What a disgusting species we are!

Oh no, why are soap bars gross?

Since I read that soap bars were gross nothing can surprise me anymore.

Why? Surely if they don’t wear pyjamas they wear boxers.

Nope, my husband and I both sleep naked.

Pyjamas are another way MN isn’t like the real world!

Unless he shits himself I don’t see the issue but also, don’t know any man who wears PJs. I live in my pjs when I’m at home but don’t sleep in them but still don’t wash them every day, I’m sat on my settee doing nothing in them and don’t see the need!

I can't believe so many people are repulsed by a man in pyjamas

Never met a man who wears PJs.

How would you know?!? Do you ask every single man you meet ??

I also have a little shudder at the thought of men in pyjamas. Same with men who carry a canvas tote bag on their shoulder. A man sleeping next to me wearing pyjamas and a little tote bag on his slumbering shoulder would be the stuff of nightmares.

I mostly sleep standing up by the side of the bed and then get the carpet cleaned each morning.

🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for making me chuckle! I haven't felt well today and have a long day tomorrow and this thread is cheering me up.

Why do you want to wear underwear at night? Is that something your family did when you were a child?
Especially as a woman one should want to give your body a break from the tight modern knickers /and I dont mean anything extra tight, just average knickers/ and let your crotch to get some air /sorry dont seem to find better wording here/. Pyjamas are a lot looser than day clothes.

I don’t remember either way from childhood. I wear knickers with pjs as they’re trousers, and I wear knickers with other trousers.
My pjs aren’t all that loose.

Justchillinhere · Yesterday 21:30

I sleep in the cats bed so I don't dirty my sheets!

I thought only llamas wore pyjamas.

Not llamas, it's bananas...

katepilar · Yesterday 20:05

I guess people are different but I have never heard of getting sticky at night (bar peri/menopausal women or similar). I thought that people generally get sticky and dirty during the day rather than at night.

I do understand the too tired to wash in the evening.

chocoluv · Yesterday 09:08

So he’s only wearing them for 2/3 days without washing - that’s normal.

No one wears a different pair of PJs every day.

Most people sleep naked or with no bottoms anyway and no one changes the bed sheets every day.

You seem to have interviewed everyone on the planet.

Too many questiond. How do you wear jeans or frocks with no undies.

What about when you have your period?

Dont your clothes get stained and marked eith normal vaginal discharge?

I think ladies who dont wear knickers usually wear skirts and dresses.
Not everyone has a regular discharge, most dont I should think.

I know this isn't the point, but could someone clear up a related issue for me?
Is it correct to wear underwear with PJ trousers, or no underwear? I think you wear it but my DP is adamant that PJs with underwear is weird.

I burn my house down every morning. It’s the only way to be sure there’s no germs.

Finally a sensible post.

I stopped wearing knickers once I had a hysterectomy and tbh feel a lot cleaner and have had much fewer yeast infections than I previously used to have. I haven't worn jeans since I was in my 20s and wearing other trousers feels fine. I've also no issues with wearing a dress and no undies (I'm well past the age of wearing miniskirts). Although many years ago, I did have an embarrassing moment on Oxford Street one summer. I had an armful of books and tripped spilling all the books and scrapping my knee, but also my dress rode up. I think I gave the Japanese tourists who were behind me quite a fright. I was pretty mortified, but just picked myself up and carried on as normal. And it didn't make me change my underwear habits either.

I can’t believe you only changed your bedding twice a night. I change mine every hour. That is so gross.

I can't believe you sleep in your bed. Vile.

SummerDive · Yesterday 16:32

I have to say, the first time I heard about wearing underwear under pjs was on MN. For a Man or a woman.

And yes dh was sleeping naked anyway. That is until the dcs got older and were more likely to see him naked. I had to point out that maybe there was a time it wasn’t suitable anymore to see each other naked, even if in the middle of the nigut.
