What can I spend my new fortune on?

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 05/08/2026 16:09

My ex paid very little child maintenance. Was on the fiddle with his boss to only pay £5 a week. He had over £2000 arrears.
Additionally, no one has set eyes on this piece of 💩in over 10 years including his children. I seriously considered that he may have died during COVID.
I am a petty bitch so wouldn’t let the the CMS close my account when my son turned 19. This morning I received a text to say a payment had been made to my account.
£15.65 a month will be paid to me starting this month. It will take him 10 years to pay off the arrears, I will be retired by the time it is cleared, he will be 70.
I would have loved to have seen his face when he saw the benefit reduction due to CMS arrears. Every month, I am going to spend that £15 on something ridiculous- suggestions please!

I'd spent it on a gin at a fancy bar, take a photo and send it to him every week with "cheers".

Definitely treat yourself whatever it is, every week!

Nousernameideaaga · 05/08/2026 18:07

Brilliant. Lottery or premium bonds. True Karma would be you winning a fortune from his meagre contribution ☺️

Cluelessfirstimer · 05/08/2026 18:07

This and engrave it his name or words biggest prick

(This was the first thing that came up for me when googling ridiculous things )

Honestly though I would buy scratch cards or the lottery each week. Just image if you won on his money.

Loads of men complain their money is just getting spent on their exes getting their nails done, so do that at least once!

Yes!

DonaldWheresMaTweezers · 05/08/2026 18:09

That's about the cost of 20 cigs these days - could be a satisfying purchase if he is an anti-smoker. You don't have to smoke them.

Sponsor a toilet
Buy yourself a crown and sceptre to lord it over everyone
Fortnum and mason biscuits
Get yourself some ludicrously bling fake jewellery
An acre of moon
Name a star or stars after him eg stupid ex name
Buy yourself a lord title

rolloverbeethoven · 05/08/2026 18:10

Daymade, you'll get little (or big) gifts from time to time, it's a nice surprise.

JacknDiane · 05/08/2026 18:14

A nice coffee, cake and a glass of prosecco.

Yes! Do this! 😆

It’s the one accusation always flung at women (Mums) who dare to try and get men to pay towards their own children!

My DP won £5 on the ‘dogs trust’ thingy… he says you’re just flaunting your pots of money in his face!😁

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/08/2026 18:16

Expensive biscuits from Fortnum and Mason, @RamsayBoltonsConscience?

Does that mean he’s got a job? If so won’t they start claiming a proper amount from him?

ghostperfume6 · 05/08/2026 18:24

I paid £10 to a cat charity who named a cat after my ex and had him neutered?

Yetone · 05/08/2026 18:28

Save it all up. Eventually you will have enough for a lovely holiday and make durr he knows about it,

JustMyView13 · 05/08/2026 18:29

If you move to a model where you save a month, spend a month, you’ll have enough for whatever Champagne the supermarket has on offer every other month. Cheers to not having him in your life!

BoogieVoogieAllNightLong · 05/08/2026 18:30

Adopt an African land snail in his name and send him the adoption certificate with a message that says "Something that moves faster than your child maintenance payments."

lol. Are you her ex? You’re getting very angry.

@RamsayBoltonsConscience Can you please buy this one some Haribo to cheer them up with your new found riches?

Sponsoring a child is a fab idea or do one of those schemes where you give micro loans with some of it. But I do agree...the system and the men who abuse it is horrendous

Sponsor a toilet!! There’s a reason that I came here to ask for suggestions.

So you are on the side of the deadbeat dad who abandoned his kid, and actively cheated on his finances, in order to contribute nothing towards the kid’s upbringing, and insulting the woman who stuck around and raised the kid single-handedly, @Hereagain334 - that reeks of misogyny. You must be so proud.

I suspect he’s claiming benefits but I honestly don’t know. Like I said, no one has heard of or seen him in over 10 years. I did honestly think he may be dead.
