Start using Mumsnet Premiumfeminist movement is a cult that grooms, controls and abuses, according to a lesbian who managed to escape - Amy Dyess
(101 Posts)Have to say I have never heard of her, but she is giving pink news everything they every wanted to hear!
It’s been an epic journey getting to this point. I hope my story will help LGBT people avoid the GC movement or find their way out of it. I might write a book about what I went through, but this article by @vicparsons_ is a good overview.

And is obviously hoping to hook others into asking her opinions with this barely veiled threat of more shock horror stories to come:
I have receipts on some big names that weren’t mentioned in this piece, but hopefully that part of the story will get out in the future. Let me be clear that some GCs are well meaning. Some have helped me. Many of the leaders in the movement are corrupt, though.

Ok, having glanced at it briefly I am torn, on the one hand "we believe you", on the other, "wtf!"
Amy seemed to think that when she came to England, she was going to start a relationship with a GC lesbian she had chatted to and when that fell through, she just pulled the plug on everything. I have no doubt there was abuse towards her, but she is being very selective with the facts here.
Sorry, but as soon as I read 'an international network of powerful lesbians.' the theme music to Mission Impossible started playing in my head and I couldn't concentrate.
'an international network of powerful lesbians.'
With laser beams!
An epic journey. Is she Frodo or Smeagol?

Sitting on chairs no doubt?
Okay, I managed to focus to read it. I'm sorry she seems to have had such a hard time. Without any names or references at all, though, it's a bit hard to know what she's talking about. I expect they may be revealed in the forthcoming book.

Sorry but here's no way I can let that go without an "and the cock ring of doom" reference.
I call them the Matriarchy
Do-doo-doo, do-doo-doo
Deedle-doo! Deedle-doo!
Sorry.

Presumably there are none so they can't be done for libel, and of course because it's mostly made up.
I did see a funny tweet where someone was apologising for taking their eye off the ball and leaving her cage unlocked...
I'm not sure that Amy is quite well, and I thought that long before this current article.
Either way, I'm sorry that she feels this way, and I hope she's getting the support that she needs.
Pink News have made a fool of her. They are nasty.
@GlitterToast
I agree, I've never heard of her before but simply taking her tweets at face value the way she interacts with people reminds me of that of a teenager throwing a tantrum. Julie Bindel tweeted something very reasonable to her about supporting de-transitioners and she took that as an 'attack'???
Her interview in PinkNews and her description of the GC movement reads like something out of the TRA playbook or some kind of international spy novel. She is also calling women who disagree with her 'fake lesbians' and her being somehow the real deal by comparison.
There have been disagreements within the GC community at times, but I have never seen anyone actually GC do a 180 so vigorously and give an interview with prick news of all people to tell them what they and the rest of the TRA mob exactly what they want to hear (read: fantasist arse gravy)about the gender critical movement, then go on to be all buddy- buddy with the rest of the main twitter TRA's.
In addition to that she is also now hinting a future book with receipts of other GC women who have apparently been unpleasant to her without actually naming any names up to this point?
This women unfortunately seems unwell, bitter and an opportunist all at the same time.
It's hard not to see this as a parody.
But accepting she has been hurt whether politically or personally isn't the basis for a good article. This is just personal spite, and made more obviously so, because in implying gender critical feminists are all predatory lesbians (just a tiny bit lesphobic) it totally ignores the fact that the largets gc group is WPUK who dont put themselves forward as a lesbian group. And have made a point of saying that in their political opinion you do not work with right wing christian groups.
I know lots of women who through forming a strong attachment to one individual, and then being influenced by that, think they are then feminist. But they aren't, they are just a camp follower, or a slightly imature fan.
And as someone said up thread, exploitative of PN to do this to her, not unlike the tabloids. Gutter journalism.
But suspect main other news outlets will follow this up.
I'm probably missing something but who are the leaders of which Amy speaks?
It's a political movement but not a political party with an elected head. Prominent figures and factions sure...basically I don't know what she's on about, mainly because I don't know the history around what happened and I don't care to take the time to find out either.
She may change her mind again in the future and she may regret that article. Everyone can change their minds, I haven't seen it in that direction before but there's always a first time.
Och well things not so right in her life. Such as it is in them times.
But she is locked up in my lesbian basement.
Just saying 😘🔥🔥🔥🔥🍹
She solicted donations a few years ago for a Lesbian-centred media group. Got donations, including from me No sign of any attempt to produce an online journal, magazine, or any type of media presence.
Someone on twitter mentioned that years ago she solicited donations for running for the US presidency. Took money, didn't run.
This is besides the other crazy stuff she has been saying.
Pink News have made a fool of her. They are nasty.
They are.
‘Right wing Christians’ is such an American thing. Evangelistic churches in the UK are not right wing in the American sense and are much more often left wing in the UK political sense. Certainly when you look at the big Christian activism in the UK then you are looking at groups like Salvation Army, Christians Against Poverty, groups supporting the poorest of society. The ‘prosperity gospel’ (teaching God will make you rich) is much more niche here. The more right wing churches tend to be the conservative institutions such some of the Church of England but even then the message is Christian responsibility to help the poor. Every time I see ‘right wing Christianity’ I think they do not understand British churches or politics at all.
There are enough straw-man arguments in that article for a really good bonfire.
