See what they are re-tweeting:

twitter.com/LGBTLD

(Not sure how to link to the exact tweet but it's the Cole Zachary one).

There really is no one to vote for, is there?

They are saying “TERFs” are murdering trans women?

And then further down that thread they are saying it was #manfriday and someone called Janice who killed “thousands”.

What? What in the what?

This was what they retweeted

MorrisZapp · 29/03/2018 00:40

I give up. The world has left me behind. The LibDems? The fucking LIBDEMS?

dogendsaredogs · 29/03/2018 01:22

Did you realise the person who posted that was TIW? I just read through her page on twitter and its really sad.

dogendsaredogs · 29/03/2018 01:42

I mean Cole Zachary. It unfamiliar to me as a life choice and shocking and just sad that this young women hates her body and tortures herself.

MorrisZapp · 29/03/2018 01:48

I read Coles page too. I could weep. A bright, friendly girl injecting 'vitamin t' and stunting her natural growth with bindings. She looks so young. But the LibDems know better, they're the idiots here.

LittleLebowski · 29/03/2018 07:18

Yes, the LibDem LGBT seem to be really rabid don't they? That Alisdair Calder McGregor interacting with Brian Piddick was really sweary and aggressive. You would have thought they would have had some social media training on how to tone it down and act like they represent in some way a mainstream political party hoping to win elections! No wonder so many are forced to resign after embarrassing tweets resurface. I have yet to see a gender critical poster being as vicious as these people are. They immediately leap to Mach 10 they are literally kiling us just to get everyone to STFU. I hate that #nodebate.

LittleLebowski · 29/03/2018 07:39

Oh and if you want to complain to Libdem LGBT about their language/tone; this is the person to speak to apparently.

Just when you thought the LibDems couldn't out-crazy Labour...
IndominusRex · 29/03/2018 07:54

I'm assuming they mean Janice Turner from the times.

BloodyFreezing · 29/03/2018 08:43

Where's the comment about Janice?

Not for the first time I see ZewoHewo has summed it up in a busy but clear tweet:

twitter.com/ZewoHewo/status/979148833018949632

The apparent hatred of women that comes off some young TIFs in waves is distressing to see.

BloodyFreezing · 29/03/2018 09:08

Can I just ask, for those who have been on Twitter and other social media longer than me (so probably most people), have political parties and in particular their official LGBT groups always been like this or is this a new thing - and, if so, why do you think that is?

I'm a lesbian and have been involved (in a minor way) in various campaigns to change the law etc and I've never witnessed anything like the kind of behaviour we are seeing now - by which I don't mean strongly disagreeing or even calling people bigots - but I never saw any of this "they're murdering us all with their words" histrionics, promoting and justifying violence towards opponents etc. The whole tone of this is completely alien to me.

I wasn't involved in social media (or political parties) while involved in any of this so was this kind of behaviour going on and I was oblivious or is it something that has started (relatively) recently with the upsurge of transactivism?

I could kind of understand it just being a 'transactivists and trolls' on social media thing but it isn't. We now have the main political parties in the UK (and their LGBT groups) sharing this kind of extremist rhetoric through their official accounts. Have they always been like this and, if not, what has changed?

I've been involved in (non-party political) LGBT organisations and have seen them taken over by transactivism and, like many, have just had to back away because there is no room for dissent and they are not welcoming places for lesbians. Has something similar happened in the political parties and a new influx of extremists have moved in? If not and these are long-term members who have never behaved like this before, why do you think this has changed? Eg. Have they been whipped up by extremism on social media or, for some of the men, is it an opportunity to exercise their latent misogyny under the guise of progressiveness?

This was retweeted by Sal Brinton last night

Trans women are women.
Trans men are men.
Non binary and gender queer people are whatever gender they want to be.
If you disagree with any of those statements please do argue in the replies to this tweet for my ease of muting
👍

RedToothBrush · 29/03/2018 10:25

lgbt.libdems.org.uk/en/page/executive
This is the LDs LGBT executive.

Spot the glaring omission.
(in case you are wondering, Holly is bi).

AngryAttackKittens · 29/03/2018 10:32

So major political parties are retweeting the paranoid ramblings of confused, unhappy teenagers and calling it activism now?

I guess the Libdems must want their own Lily Madigan.

borntobequiet · 29/03/2018 11:43

I've just phoned the national Lib Dems and told them I will no longer support, campaign or vote for them while the party prioritises the rights of a subset of men who identify as women over the rights to free speech, safety, privacy and dignity of women.
I have emailed the local party to say I won't be canvassing or supporting them in any way in the run up to the local elections, for the same reason.

UpstartCrow · 29/03/2018 11:49

borntobequiet Well done, I think we have to withdraw our labour from the election.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 29/03/2018 11:52

Well done born, least we can do is withdraw our labour. I did the same with the labour party. They are all revelling in their misogyny now aren't they.

ReluctantCamper · 29/03/2018 11:54

Cor blimey Born well done you. However can I assume your very legitimate concerns were met with tumbleweed?

UpstartCrow · 29/03/2018 11:56

One person at a time will be met with tumbleweed, but those leaflets don't fold themselves.

ReluctantCamper · 29/03/2018 12:07

agreed. i know my flounce from labour (second time too - the Iraq war saw me off the first time around) will mean little, but hopefully there'll be a cumulative effect.....

borntobequiet · 29/03/2018 12:09

The person I spoke to at central office was pleasant and sympathetic. I don't want to go into more detail (for their sake) but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know if anyone else there will take notice...in my email to the local party, I said feel free to forward this to national HQ.

RosenbergW · 29/03/2018 12:11

Sarah Brown ('goatsarah') is the dude who tried to organise trans activists to manipulate Google into showing a picture of Julie Bindel when searched for the word 'smegma'. He has been very influential in the lib dems re the trans issue for years and is apparently the person to address complaints to about tweets from the @LGBTLD twitter. He is a raging misogynist and an outrageous (and prolific) liar who claims he was driven to breakdown by radical feminists. He once posted that a blogger who had exposed some of "aunty sarah's" (ugh) behaviour should "suck my formaldehyde pickled balls”. The evidence of this dude's behaviour was all over the net for years but it seems to have had a bit of a scrub and he is less public with his activism than he was (just a few years ago he was being lauded as one of the most important trans women activists in the country). But he is still there pulling strings behind the scenes. Have a read of this if you've not come across him before - the lib dems have been shielding him for years: privilegedenyingtranny.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/sarah-brown-asks-you-to-suck-my-formaldehyde-pickled-balls/

RosenbergW · 29/03/2018 12:20

Apologies but I misremembered slightly. He didn't organise to have Julie Bindel's face show up on a google search for smegma. No, what he organised for was to have the smegma that collects in the male 'neovagina' named as Bindel and have that spread across the net (the definition, not his neovagina smegma, though he is gross enough to have spread that across his keyboard).

If this is too graphic and disgusting for you, you can understand why the lib dems keep him behind the curtains these days. It's all at the link. This is the main influence manipulating the lib dems approach to trans. Labour are assholes but they have not yet plunged to these depths.

ReluctantCamper · 29/03/2018 12:28

Christ. After discovering that the libdebs support the decriminalisation of 'sex work' (that would be the 'work' where 60-75% of the 'workers' are raped while doing their 'work') and oppose some proposed age controls on porn sites, they really are off my Christmas card list.

RosenbergW · 29/03/2018 12:33
