Had one last week which appears to have done diddly squat. Any likelihood this one will be any different. 40+3 now Sad

Oh Jellybaby, I keep ending up on your threads. You sound so fed up. I'm in for first today and midwife hasn't turned up. They're trying to track her down.

I really hope the second one works for you today.

I hope you have more luck than me. Waited over 2 hours to be told I may as well go home as doesn't look like midwife is coming...

I know someone who swears she has induced all of her own labours with nipple tweaking.

15 mins on each side and she swears by 45 minutes she was in labour with both children.

I did do it with DC2, my waters broke and he had pooed so not sure if that's related and obviously that's not ideal. I was just about to be sent home after a failed induction though so was quite pleased that at least he would have to come that day.

Just had home visit from midwife who agreed to sweep. As soon as she started she said that head was really low down, cervix was soft and 2-3 cm dilated. She seemed quite hopeful that it would work and told me to ring hospital as soon as contractions started due to how low down the head ways

Feel like im living this with you both jelly and 10storey only 39 weeks but not meant to be going to term. Had sweep 1 on fri and the midwife cancelled my wed sweep as Im consultant led she thinks I will just be induced on fri at my next apt but i was hoping sweep 2 would prevent induction 😭 have you had any signs yet either of you?

I've been having tightenings all afternoon but they're not painful. Just waiting to see if they progress at all...

I have! Plus spicy food, RLT, pineapple, lots of walking, bouncing on ball, "rotate to dilate"...

Second one worked for me too. She was born that evening in a couple of hours. Good luck!

Well I don't think that my sweep has worked. Hours of BH and cramps have faded away to nothing.

Good luck jellybaby - I really hope it works for you this time! Got everything crossed.

I'm 39+3 so not as far along as you, but feeling pretty desperate already. I've had a lot of thick yellow discharge tinged with blood today - not sure whether that's my plug? And even if it is, whether that means anything? Felt so positive after midwife yesterday and now feel like it could be ages again.

I've got my first sweep this afternoon and I'm getting quite nervous about it. I just don't like the idea of the midwife putting her hand up there! I know that's silly as I'll be having this baby in a few days whatever happens, but I feel like I won't mind so much in labour as the pain/adrenaline etc will see me through whereas today I think I'll just feel a bit... exposed. I just hope it works!
