to be frustrated by plus size bloggers

First of all I am plus size myself but I find the plus size bloggers out there to be really disappointing in terms of the outfits they show and the message they put out.

There are some bloggers who wear clothes that are 2-3 sizes too small either because they think they are that size or because (most likely) they want to show off the fact they are fat because its all they talk about in between their fashion photos. I'd rather just learn about the clothes not to read defensive posts all the time.

And there are other bloggers who wear ridiculously bright clothes, lots of in your face make up and jewellery to seemingly 'hide' the fact that they are plus size.

Where are all the 'normal' plus size bloggers? with normal looking clothes that people would actually wear, that actually fit them, who have an interest in fashion without pushing a particular 'cause' down our throats in every second post?

I quite like becky barnes and arched eyebrow. Their blogs are relatively normal and they are of a similar size / shape to me.

Wannabe Princess is the worst. Nothing personal but her blog comes under the first category above. She doesn't wear clothes that actually fit her or are in any way fashionable. Diamond and Pearls comes under the second category with the OTT make up/jewellery/clothes. Neither of them do plus size people any favours, contrary to what they might think, they just make us more objects of fun.

Can anyone recommend a blogger who promotes clothes people would actually wear and that actually fit?

I love blogger and vlogger Louise Pentland, also known as sprinkle of glitter. I've watched her channel for a couple of years. She does fashion/makeup along with mummy lifestyle. I've always loved her style and she seems really down to earth.

I follow a local girl on Instagram called whatlauraloves and she seems pretty down to earth. Enjoys looking after herself but does shop at simplybe and the other plus size shop that I can't recall (not Evans)

I've not seen any ,but I might have a look out ...why don't you have a go...you seem to know a lot about it ,and if you feel as you do ,others may too.im large too,and find fashion uninspiring for my size 22. I used to be able to fit in to primark, sadly they stop at a 20. So tell me where I find a good blogger ...I'm in to alternative ,and I've lots of tats..can you suggest someone I might like?

Fuller Figure Fuller Bust is great, as is the spin off FB group Fuller Figure Fuller Wardrobe. I get tons of ideas from both.

Fuller Figure Fuller Wardrobe annoys me a bit. There are lots of comments re no mention of diet, if you feel good then everything’s fine. Whilst some of them are extremely supportive (me included, I’d never be rude to other overweight people!), I find it very worrying that the basic message is it’s fine to be seriously overweight. I know it’s not the point of the group, but I think I need to find a diet support group and stop being miserable!

Just had a look at wannabe princess imo yes clothes are a bit small some not so flattering but I do love Scarlett and Jo pieces always get lots of compliments the cuts are so flattering I'm losing weight at the moment and I still intend to wear their stuff when I'm a size 12. Everybody has different tastes.

Maelstrop, if you read FFFB blog, you'll see she's very fit and active despite being a size 18. Dieting and thinness doesn't equate healthy.

Maelstrop it's interesting you bring this up because there was a massive thread regarding that just the other week!
I think it's not giving the idea that it's "fine" to be overweight or whatever but more saying "hey this is what it is, look at my cool threads"

Personally I don't want diet tips. That groups given me so much confidence in showing my shape/curves and I'm feeling good, better than I've done for years.
Thyroid issues mean weight is a problem for me but I'm generally healthy.
Didn't know about these plus size bloggers so off to check them out

OP, it sounds like you have a very developed sense of fashion and style. Why not be the change you want to see and start your own blog? If you feel this way I am sure other people will agree with you.

Gah, I loathe a lot of these blogs and Instagram accounts. Nout wrong with a good, positive self-image and confidence. Regardless of age and size etc. But there are a few that really grate. One is constantly wearing the sort of outfits, I’d expect at a Ping Pong bar, accessorised with a cute lilt and the catch phrase ‘Me love you long time’. This woman gets off on the attention and controversy of wearing an attire unsuitable for most jobs, even pushing the envelope for clubbing gear. Anyone, who suggests that perhaps it wasn’t entirely suitable for the office is immediately attacked and hounded by her and her sycophants. She will post semi nude pictures and be goady about dudes ‘loving a real woman rather than stick insects.' Neither form of body shaming is cool but it seems to be fair game for her and her size 26+ brigade. Brilliant to love your own shape but be kind and accepting to other women. And guys. I’ve dropped one acquaintance of that ilk who would go and on about accepting fat people, meaning women and lambasting the media with #fyourbeautystandard memes etc. But then she openly mocked and publicly posted a scathing response to an overweight guy asking her out. Apparently, she only likes very fit and ‘ripped’ guys and jsut because she is fat and proud, doesn't mean she has to settle for unattractive guys... She prances around in glorified underwear but then waxes on lyrically about not wishing to be objectified. I think her ilk are attention seeking twatts with no taste no matter what size they might be.

What's that lady in America ,holiday I think her surname is,very large and lots of tattoos, she's quite outspoken about it being her right to be fat...but I can't think of her name..does she do a blog

FFFB is wearing clothes that are far too tight on her, which I've already mentioned as something that annoys me.

Some bloggers are so defensive, if being so big weren't an issue, why protest so much? Many of them know themselves that they are not 'plus size', they are way beyond that. There are so few bloggers around a size 18, they are either much skinnier or much larger.

Wow. Just wow. Who are you to decide what counts as 'normal' plus size? And fine, you don't like what some other people choose to wear. Stop reading their blogs. They don't owe you anything.

You can’t be ‘way beyond plus size’ OP. I think that women have a right to dress as they please, regardless of their weight.

Tess sold merchandise to her fans. Well, took their money and many got nothing. A lot of those that tried to contact her via her page to find out where their shirts went, were blocked. There is a lot on the Internet about this. I know a couple of sweet young gals who got ripped off and never received their merchandise from their former idol.
