To leave the Labour Party?

I'm one of the 40k I voted against corbyn desperate to salvage a party that might at least be decent opposition but he's making sure there is no effective opposition so I'm in arrears on my membership. I no longer feel I can identify with the party or its views.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I've been a member for years - I've spent a lot of my weekends delivering Labour leaflets for years. But they're just not my people anymore - it's almost an embarrassment. And there's still this mindset (at least in my local party) that you're either pro-Corbyn or you're against us all and should rot in hell - there's no capacity for reasoned debate. It's our way or the wrong way. But yet I can't quite bring myself to walk away.

There will have to be another challenge soon and we have to gain more supporters who haven't been Party members but always volte Labour but won't for Corbyn to join and get him out

his popularity is falling as people now realise now matter how principals they think he is which is utter bollocks he can't win and will never win an election those believing he can are simply deluded

That's very true he isn't only a disaster for the Labour Party but for the country too. There is no opposition, no opposing Brexit plan absolutely nothing the Tories can do just as they please and they know it

He's so lazy,doesn't seem awfully bright and the far left seem so unpleasant. The unite /momentum stuff just seems to cap it for me. When you see the SNP are more eloquent in a debate it's embarrassing.

It's painful to watch, but I'm staying on the off chance of another vote.
I'm actually finding it really sad, I was very involved before (and have worked for the party in the past), and I've seen my local party change from an amazing group of people, with slightly differing view points but a common aim who got on well and supported each other, to bullying and an awful atmosphere.

I am a member but would be on the left of the party. I voted Corbyn and Burnham.

The problem is that people don't want Blairites/tory lite and anyone such as Cooper is tainted by the Iraq war. Then those like Umunna and Hunt who are very patronising... wheeling out Mandleson and Blair backfires. People don't want to be told. Members feel unvalued because they atent the type some MPs want.

So if not Corbyn then who?

And how could we be different to the Tories and make that clear to pepole. I always hearing people say 'they're all the same'. People like Blair promote this view.

I like Angela Raynor I think she is really good and a breath of fresh air.

I'm on the left of the party and didn't vote Corbyn. I don't understand why anyone would. The British public certainly aren't going to.
He and John McDonnell are just a shower of shite. They can't seem to grasp the basics. Losing a by election to the Tories in the current climate of brexit and austerity is outrageous. The claims of unite joining with momentum are...i can't even think of the words!
On a national level there is no policy, no strategy, no foresight and absolutely no opposition.
On a local level, it's entryism and aggression from momentum members against long standing (pre Blair) members.

If an election was called tomorrow, I think the labour party would be left with only a small handful of seats.

I despair. I believe in the labour party have done my whole life. I don't know which way to turn. I'll stay a member for now to vote ABC but I also fear what will be offered to get him to go.

Keir Starmer and Dan Jarvis both could be potential leaders. KS had the advantage of his background thought not long worked as an MP

People might moan they are all the same but are they they votes we need to gain power no we need those floating voters that are in the middle. A far left Labour Party will never win an election we learnt that in the 80's

As for Angela Raynor she can barley string a sentence together when under questioning she was embarrassing on Question Time

Angela Raynor is great. Just because she isn't degree educated doesn't mean she isn't capable of representing people. She is one of the few MPs to have ever had a manual job. Yes she isn't the typical politician but I think people would like that. DJ has already said he won't hasn't he? Due to family. I heard CU is making noises but he backed out last time. Can't see JC voters backing him.

JM could and still can get his point across when under questionining its of vital importance when in a senior position in politics

Just the thought of her sitting at a table with world leaders and negotiating difficult issues is laughable as is Corbyn neither will ever be in that position

Atm I like Wes Streeting. One for the future? I'm so sick of people crapping on about Blairite/Tory lite, it's a load of bollocks, that was years ago. One of the worst thing about Corbyn at al is they have actually have no interest in being in power (or even an effective opposition) as well as no ability. I don't believe Corbyn ever wanted to be leader and still doesn't. McDonnel, on the other hand does, but is too insane to get elected. So we are stuck with this appalling, incompetent government, destroying all public services, embarrassing themselves with budget u-turns and delivering hard Brexit, getting away with it scot free. The populist support for Corbyn amongst a certain sector to my mind is no different to Trump and UKIP supporters. However, I'm staying in the party. Tim Farron and libdems are not viable option and I can't ever imagine voting other than Labour.

Why out of interest? (not a LD supporter btw, just interested). If it's tuition fees, I think that's unreasonable... you are supporting a party who led us into the Gulf War after all.... and are prepared to put this in the past.

Oh god, i know how you feel. I joined about a year ago and after delivering leaflets that were half heartedly written in support of Brexit it's obvious that support for remain wasn't there. We just seem to be letting the Tories get on with it. Can't stand McDonnell. Momentum are just a bunch of thugs and taking over the party.
