I thought I'd create a new thread so it's easier to find the update.

She was woken up from the sedation this morning, which went well apparently. I saw her this afternoon and she's doing really, really well. Still in ICU for the moment but they'll be moving her tomorrow.

I can only see her for an hour a day which is so, so hard. But COVID rules are there for a reason.

Oh Jack, that's tremendous news, you must be out of your skin with worry. Here's to her coming home and make a full recovery.

I have been thinking about you and your dd all weekend, I am so happy for you both, as this sounds really positive. Take care Flowers Flowers Flowers

SpringSparrow · 05/09/2021 20:41

Ah so pleased to hear that she is doing well. Thinking of you both.

katie2812 · 05/09/2021 20:42

Oh amazing. I have wondered all day how she's doing and you.

It's still a long road to recovery but I'm sure with the right support, hopefully you both will be fine.

Remember though, to take care of yourself. When ym sister attempted suicide and ended up on a psych ward for a month, my mom took time off but I don't think she looked after herself mentally as she still worries 2 years on if my sister has a bad day.

Maybe try to see a therapist or someone. Obviously not straight away but look after yourself as you can't pour from an empty cup.

I hope the hospital does all the necessary things for you DD and she makes a full recovery.

icusteps.org/

Has support groups.

So glad to read your update, I hope you manage to get some rest.

And, I hope there's a plan in place for DD to get some support too and she is not just discharged back to the community after ITU.

sofakingcool · 05/09/2021 20:55

Lovely to see positive news, still thinking of you x

cookingisoverrated · 05/09/2021 21:00

Great news, OP. Really glad to see the update.

I hope you're looking after yourself while she's where she needs to be.

ThreeLocusts · 05/09/2021 21:04

I'm so, so glad to hear this. My daughter is in a difficult place and after reading your earlier thread I hid all our painkillers, just to be safe.

Here's hoping you get all the help you need from now onward.

FlatteredFool · 05/09/2021 21:06

Fantastic news!

HollowTalk · 05/09/2021 21:09

mineofuselessinformation · 05/09/2021 21:09

How lovely to hear the good news, @JackOfGentleman. Smile
I hope you can start to relax now that things are on the up (yes, I know DD needs help, but hopefully she will get that now). For now, she's safe.
I expect you're exhausted. Remember to take care of yourself. Huge un-mumsnetty hugs to you and your DD.

Justgivemewine · 05/09/2021 21:12
