Mine was egg and crab purchased in an Italian bar. Closely followed by prawns in dill mayonnaise that Pret sold years ago.

You?

I had an amazing Reuben sandwich at NASA in Florida of all places.
Funnily enough I remember the sandwich and DD doing an explosive poo but not much else about the day

A French dipped beef sandwich at Phillipe’s in downtown LA.
A friend recommended the place and we walked for over an hour trying to find it with very few directions and a poor mobile internet signal.

I want to say a beef po’boy in New Orleans but honestly that’s a close second to the chicken mozerella and jalapeño panini I had after doing the glucose tolerance test at 28 weeks pregnant. I was STARVING. I still think about it now...

I'm not a big fan of sandwiches but I had an amazing one just recently, at a restaurant called The Farm north of Chicago. Ham & Gruyere on toasted bread, with some delicious kind of mustard.

Mine is the one I get to make, occasionally, after we’ve had a roast chicken with home made stuffing and bread sauce.

Fresh white bread, salted butter, cold chicken (with plenty of skin), sage, onion and bacon stuffing and a layer of cold bread sauce. Heaven.

Ham and cottage cheese on white doorstep. From the sandwich shop next to Barclays. They used to put it in a paper bag to takeaway. I'd then munch it on the bench while waiting for the bus. Had to be eaten cold though.

The slice of toast with raspberry jam a lovely nurse brought me at about 3am, when I finally came round after an operation that had started early the previous afternoon.
I will always remember her kindness!

Some kind of mozzarella, basil and tomato bagel from a deli in New York. I know it sounds boring but it was stacked about 5 inches high and the flavours were incredible.

A Philly Cheesesteak sandwich in - where else - Philadelphia.
Wonderful but left me stuffed for 24 hours (and I eat loads!)

Mine was a fresh crab meat on thick brown bread served by the beach in East Dorset. It also came with a side of perfectly cooked chips too 🤤

I had a really, really tasty tofu (of all things!) sandwich at a café in Barcelona several years ago. I’ve not been back to Barcelona since and I don’t think I would be able to remember where the cafe was but it was DELICIOUS!

One Christmas season pret did a beef wellington sandwich with lovely thin roast beef and a mushroom spread. It was heaven. Next year it was gone and I still miss it.

I used to go to a sandwich bar before lectures that did an incredible ham, cheese and coleslaw baguette. Importantly, the baguette was always warm.

More recently an amazing Ruben from Monty's Deli.

I used to buy doorstep wedge sandwiches from a little indipendent shop in my local town.... About 12 years ago!. The best was a BLT with lashings of mayo or failing that a ham salad with thick chunks of ham.

I moved out the area years ago and I still remember them. Feeling a bit peckish now 😒

My first ever sub, from upstate New York in 1998. It was tuna, salad and gherkins. I'd never eaten gherkins. It was the sandwich of dreams!
