Is there any way to see the suspension of the US suspension as anything other than corruption?

Is there an explaination that isn't powerful man asked for something and got it, in return for who knows what?

"Equally, such a decision creates a precedent in the ongoing tournament, where similar situations will now require an equal treatment, to the detriment of the competition.

I know. If the red card stands he should be suspended. That's black and white imo.

But, it was a soft red card (according to Tuchel and others), so maybe would have been overturned on appeal, but that's not what's happened?

As an American, I would say, no. There's no other way to look at it. Trump cheats or cries unfair at everything. Unsurprisingly, he's met his match with FIFA. Blatant open corruption.

FiFA always rigs tournaments so the host country can get to Quarter or Semis. Look at the time South Korea made it to the semis. In that case they hired bent refs.
