Yeah, they used to have extra time for the FA cup final ( uk ) but years ago if it was still a draw , they had to do it all again days later ! I think that’s why they brought in the penalties tbh, but I am going back years.

FA cup replays were stopped for the semi final and final in 2000

Then scrapped for all rounds in 2024/25 - didn’t realise that recent!
