Can someone explain what needs to happen between these 2 matches for Scotland to qualify?

It’s gutting, but it’s Brazil. I’ve seen enough semi or quarter final matches between England (my team) and Brazil/Argentina/Germany to know these teams are basically unshakeable and although a win is possible it’s always unlikely.

Scotland, have dropped to 6th place in BBC 3rd place table.

Haiti draw or lose.

Due to the expansion, it won't be clear today. 8 of the 12 3rd place teams go through so it depends what happens in the other groups.

Its ridiculous as later groups know what they need to do. I see match fixing....

Before, the top two of each group went through so no other group could affect it, and the final games were played simultaneously as they are now, so less chance for shenanigans.

If 2 teams tie on points, it goes on the result of the match between those 2 teams. Haiti will finish 4th, even if they win and Scotland lose because Scotland beat Haiti.

But if 8 teams in 3rd place get more points than Scotland, they're on the plane home.

It's simple, if stupid. And can't be clarified for a few days.

If Scotland draw and Morocco lose. Scotland will still finish 3rd as Morocco beat Scotland. To get automatic qualification, Scotland must win. A draw would give them 3rd place and, with 4 points, they would probably go through as a best placed 3rd. Losing 2 - 1 might be enough. Why is it so complicated?

It's not! It'll just take time to see what the 3rd places look like.
