Ive got 2 small ones so some income for the foreseeable. But it doesnt replace the income I was on.

Are they both school age? If not, what are you doing about nursery fees? Have you explored universal credit?

Twilightstarbright · 08/02/2026 07:29

Been thinking of you @CrazyPenguin101 and hope you’re ok.

The company will pay £500 max towards a solicitor to sign off on the agreement. Those gearing OP up for a legal battle are not being realistic. 6 months pay for a role you've been in for 2 years is a good deal. They could have gone through a redundancy process and paid nothing. It sounds like they're playing by the book and trying to be fair so just see a solicitor in your local area OP. Google will give you loads, if you've any cause for taking things further they'll let you know. These are not uncommon agreements, they deal with them constantly 💐

OP already has an agreement she's happy with.

The OP is talking about two small work contracts, not two small children, I think?

RTT. This has concluded. plus you can’t possibly say the company will pay £500 towards a settlement agreement. That is not the law. They are not required to.

Wha would possess you not to read at least just the OP’s responses first, but also to spout such BS. £500 nonsense

Once they turn ten years old , if they don’t want to see him , their choice , the court will go with the child’s decision. They will not force a child to have contact after ten years old if they don’t want to . I’m not suggesting this is a good idea . Only you know what’s best for them . Crap year so far but hey , it will get better . Please keep us updated . Would be great to hear some good news for you .
