I would have been in my mid-20s, working as a tech journalist in Camden in the 90s just as the dotcom bubble was really starting to get going. I had a group of superb colleagues all in our 20s living and working in London. They were great and I still keep in touch with them. My job had a fair amount of press trips and schmoozing by PR flunkies that was great fun.
Outside of work I had a bunch of biker friends with whom I'd meet up for parties, weekends away and the occasional European adventure. I still keep in touch with them, too.
Living and working in London in the 90s was fab. Lots of gigs, lots of parties, a fair amount of very bad behaviour and delightful opportunities for a pint on a sunny Sunday.
I don't regret later settling down and having children as my DCs are genuinely the best thing that ever happened to me. But I'm grateful I had the opportunities I did for misbehaviour in my 20s. I had a blast and so once I did settle down I didn't feel like I'd missed out because I definitely hadn't.
