Ever get disappointed by the behaviour of a former coworker?

Had to return to my former workplace for a business meeting (space was hired, and it was compulsory). I tell myself that I am a free agent, and to focus on the majority, but one former coworker is really strange. I got a lovely leaving card, with really nice words in it from this person (as did everyone else). I do not expect red carpet treatment upon my return after a few months away but just friendly acknowledgement. I went to a coffee morning and said hello to everyone, and the former coworker walked in and talked to all the guys and ignored me and my former female coworker (quite blatantly). Yet he came in the room several times to draw attention to himself, whilst giving me a side-eye look, observing me in front of my face when I was talking to a former colleague. I haven't run him down. I know there are more important things in the world, but I feel sad that this is probably the last time I will see everyone at my former workplace, and I thought it was a bit off.

Thank yourself lucky. My current coworkers disappoint me every day. 😁

Tbh OP I don't think he was being unkind when you had pneumonia. At all. And it's impossible to say what today was about. I doubt any of it was malicious.

Be happy you're out of there now.

@foreverhopeful2000 totally. You've got a good way of thinking about it.

Sorry, just find it weird as most people have the courtesy of asking if you are okay after you've recovered from a life-threatening lung condition. Takes two seconds of your time.

You are desperate for this guy’s attention, op.
To the point of returning to his workplace as a volunteer. Just move on.

It’s fairly weird that you returned to a workplace you were bullied out of to volunteer, op.
Don’t overthink the fact that not everyone was thrilled to see you.

Sorry, should be clear.
I am not volunteering to work with the same people. The project manager of the voluntary organisation happened to book space there because it was cheap and local. My attendance was compulsory otherwise I wouldn't have returned.

See comment below. I am not desperate for his attention on any level. He gatecrashed the room I was in several times (rather rudely) to talk business when it was meant to be an open space for members of the community to join. Only reason I was there was because I had a meeting later that day booked for me, and I wanted to see a couple of friends (one of which wasn't him).

yeah, well, if someone continued to act ignorant but attention seeking when you are in a group discussion then he looks a right prat with no manners. I think if anyone is desperate for attention it is him acting the big man, when he has an office to continue a conversation.

And you are a troll who has never met me, doesn't know that it's like to be bullied in your job, and is a pathetic keyboard warrior with no life - and is rather sad and unhinged to bully someone online in front of other people as one who don't know the full narrative and hasn't witnessed the situation in real life.

That is an...unusual reaction.
