What do you do? I'm getting jaded working in the NHS and know I have many skills that I could use elsewhere...

Head of Faculty in a Secondary school, going into 31st year of teaching and would never, ever want to do anything else.

As others have said though, these roles all require either years of experience, professional qualifications or both…

Teacher, been working 30 years. Could be making an awful lot more if I were senior management but couldn’t stand the hassle.

Love to travel (especially London) so wondering 🤔 if I could kill two birds with one stone.

How about ops or quality management in clinical trials? If you're really keen to leave the NHS you could go to the university side of a research office, or go into industry. You'd have the relevant experience, especially with a first degree in life sciences, and lots of travel opportunities for conferences etc.

I retrained at 35 to go into NHS management after ten years in the arts (and am now on over £50k). NHS salaries, progression opportunities, and job security seemed like a dream after the arts--and the glamour of work travel had definitely worn off.
