Did you get a pay rise this year! If so how much?

I keep hearing wages are going up by X% in uk yet I should have been planning merits for my team by Mid may. It’s now June and we’ve not heard anything! Business has been worse than previous years but we did get a bonus (not the full one but bonus is a bonus). My team have said they’ve always had some kind of pay rise but I am concerned we’re not getting anything! What kind of industry are you in and did you get a pay rise this year?

TheFireflies · 12/06/2024 18:40

Social worker, nothing

needhelpwiththisplease · 12/06/2024 18:40

7% last year
8% this year

Timeforachocolate · 12/06/2024 18:42

2.5% last year.
not dissimilar this year.

RaininSummer · 12/06/2024 18:57

Not yet. If lucky I suppose we may get 2 percent.

arinya · 12/06/2024 19:03

9%, admin/customer service. Fairly low pay though but school hours.

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 12/06/2024 19:05

Blanket 3% and a secret £2k bonus which was also given to a handful of staff but we had to keep it under wraps. I think my bonus was down to them knowing I’d be pissed off with 3% as it was same for everyone and they can’t justify same pay rise as an under performing colleague. Am looking for another job (not just because of this).

Overthebow · 12/06/2024 19:06

4%. We have performance related pay rises and those who didn’t perform well only got 2%.

Meadowfinch · 12/06/2024 19:07

I'm in security tech - 6% pay rise and an 8% bonus

SearchingDory · 12/06/2024 19:07

None

Time to look elsewhere unless you were already being paid over market rate and they are just equalising the others.

I'm the only admin, and no i am no where near market rates lol
Boss was going to get a temp for when I'm on holiday for a week till he saw what the agency wanted per hour.

PoundlandColumbo · 12/06/2024 19:10

I changed jobs this year with a 13% increase, then got a rise of 5%.

TedWilson · 12/06/2024 19:26

Zero. And has been zero for several years aside from me changing jobs for more money.

G3nnyL3ccy24 · 12/06/2024 19:32

I got 4% in April

But I've not been enjoying my job for a while. Bored and feel I'm not working my potential.
So I applied for a new job, and my new salary is 25% more. However it is a step up/promotion so not comparable like for like, but it's the only way I find to get a real increase in pay

Dizzy82 · 12/06/2024 19:39

I'm NHS so no idea on payrise for this year

whirlyhead · 12/06/2024 19:41

0 as self employed. I earn less than I did 5 years ago.

BoobyDazzler · 12/06/2024 19:44

4% this year, 7% last year.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 12/06/2024 19:45

1%. Work for a charity.

Kitkat1523 · 12/06/2024 19:56

Nhs so probs be Christmas before we hear about ours

Fraa · 12/06/2024 19:59

Zero for the last 2 years, biotech. Hopefully we get something later this year. I like the company, and know the reasons for it, so am bearing with it.

holycrapweasel · 12/06/2024 20:01

Nothing. I work in EYFS.

curlycurlymoo · 12/06/2024 20:01

Yes. A lot more than I expected. I take home an extra £250 a month. Work in education. Not a teacher.

If then!! It's a joke. People are struggling whilst they are ignoring it. And they don't pay interest on all the money that could have been earning interest for us

TheGriffle · 12/06/2024 20:08

Local government. Ours is still being negotiated. As usual, we’re hoping it will be ironed out by Christmas. Unions have asked for £3000 or 10% whichever is greater, they’ve countered with an increase of £1290.

QuotetheRaven · 12/06/2024 20:09

11.5% rise and 35% bonus. Town Planning Director.
