I keep hearing wages are going up by X% in uk yet I should have been planning merits for my team by Mid may. It’s now June and we’ve not heard anything! Business has been worse than previous years but we did get a bonus (not the full one but bonus is a bonus). My team have said they’ve always had some kind of pay rise but I am concerned we’re not getting anything! What kind of industry are you in and did you get a pay rise this year?

4% - oil and gas

RockahulaRocks · 12/06/2024 21:41

Media. 4%

Radiatorvalves · 12/06/2024 21:48

7% and a decent bonus. Professional services.

anonhop · 12/06/2024 22:08

3% was the standard in my firm (legal). But discretionary so some people got more/less depending on performance etc x

Sunpiercer · 13/06/2024 23:38

3.8%

GimmeGimmeLess · 14/06/2024 06:21

Private sector software company - 4%.

decionsdecisions62 · 14/06/2024 06:40

University sector we just got voluntary and compulsory redundancy announcements!

pinkwaterbottle9 · 14/06/2024 07:19

NHS and no rise so far
They'll have to raise it next April as I am currently paid min wage

Nigellasstickytoffeepudding · 14/06/2024 07:22

Two year deal announced this year, got 9% this year and will get a further 5% next year. Plus some seriously hefty improvements to the bonus structures.

FlippityFloppityFlump · 14/06/2024 07:25

3.5% public sector.

DH nothing AGAIN!

ATribeCalledQuestion · 14/06/2024 07:28

I work in local government. 2.5% raise this year.

Bigredpants · 14/06/2024 07:32

Civil Service. I think it was 3%. My pay has sunk below inflation for about 12 years now.
We are still having to reduce headcount and freeze recruitment and do more with less. It’s exhausting.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/06/2024 07:34

Self employed so nope.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 14/06/2024 08:10

4.4% plus a bonus but the bonus depends on how well the company does and how well we do in our end of year review.

I think they'll need to look at pay this year though since the minimum wage went up. a lot of people are only just above minimum wage for jobs that are not minimum wage jobs.

My NHS organisation is committed to the Real Living Wage, and they've had to make extra payments to bring some people up to the £12 an hour while we wait for the NHS pay rise/their next increment.

pinkwaterbottle9 · 14/06/2024 13:10

@dollybird
That's good. We're still £11.45 at my trust

FleshLiabilities · 15/06/2024 16:25

Nothing, nada, nish. No bonus, no pay rise.

Work for a private sector fintech company that's haemorrhaging money

BlimeyO · 27/11/2024 06:42

Bumping this thread in case any end of year pay reviews are happening already.
Looks like our company is offering 2-3% pay rises this year, but I haven’t had my letter yet.

Motnight · 27/11/2024 07:19

NHS - about 11%. The biggest pay rise that I have ever had.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 27/11/2024 07:19

Found out yesterday mine will go up 12% from the New Year but I've had to negotiate for it based on performance, there's not going to be a generalised raise to account for inflation - FinTech.

abc123x · 27/11/2024 07:51

I had around 18% this year

ThatAgileLimeCat · 27/11/2024 07:56

Nothing last year. Announcement for this year delayed. I have got pay rises through regularly promotions but across the company we are now struggling to recruit as the pay is so bad.

Zanatdy · 27/11/2024 20:42

Civil service - 6 or 7% I think, highest yet in 24yrs, happy with that

Ponderingwindow · 27/11/2024 20:46

2.2% and based on the chart they published, it was one of the better increases given.

I work for a non-profit so wages are never great, but it’s been especially bad with inflation lately.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 27/11/2024 20:51

2% pay rise. Private school. Everyone got it from management to cleaning and catering staff.
