What day off would you have?

I've just been offered a job which Im going to take, and they've agreed to 4 days. I currently have Fridays off, but they've asked I take a different day as my line manager would have Fridays and they want cover across the department.

At the moment Im considering Mondays (so no BH issues, and effectively I should win in terms of holiday entitlement), or maybe Wednesdays to break up the week. But Mondays can also be a bit rubbish - some businesses can be closed etc.

What would you choose and why?

Agree with mid week being better.
Wednesday is great- two day chunks of a week. Time to breathe, then start again.

Wednesday as it is mid week but I am biased on I was also born on this day!

?!?!?

I had Mondays off for years and loved it, now I work full time again I find it really hard. It meant I could properly enjoy the weekend and relax and Sunday was less of a rush.
Round here everyone has Fridays off though and it's very busy everywhere.
The only annoying thing about Mondays was quite a few hairdressers and beauty therapists are shut so you can't get those things done!

I have Wednesday (and Friday). I love the fact I only work 2 days before a day off, I find that definitely makes Mondays easier knowing it's 2 days before your off again!

I have Mondays off and love it. Weekends are definitely less rushed and I can leave the boring house jobs to a Monday and balance that with quality time with DC. Get the BH back so feel like I have loads of hols and also only have to take 4 days annual leave to have 10 days off in a row. Not many hairdressers round here are closed on a Monday (Greater London). Some colleagues take of Weds but personally feel like it would be hard to switch off as I would already be in ‘work mode’ having worked Mon/Tues.

Love my Mondays off. I’m spending the whole of today in a cafe writing something just for my own pleasure (I am buying food/drink whilst here before someone comments Grin). I hate going to the hairdressers so that would never influence my days off. And most teacher training days fall on a Monday so I’m available for the kids - if they fall on another day my boss is happy for me to swap but it’s easier not to have to. I love working Fridays as a fair few colleagues don’t work that day so I can crack on with fewer meetings and interruptions. But do what you think will suit you best!
