Did not hear back from interview, now one post re-advertised !

Can anyone make sense of this situation?
I went for an interview for a role and there were two posts going in different specialties. I thought the interview went pretty well. I did not hear anything back from the panel despite them saying they would contact me buy the end of the week. I did not chase it up admittedly. Now I have just seen one of the posts advertised again ?
Feeling very despondent and have now emailed the lead person.

Sorry op. It's so unprofessional when companies do that.

ShaneTwane · 07/03/2022 16:49

Not the same thing but I've just found a job advert for my workplace, same role as me but more pay. I asked for a payrise and was declined so why on earth is a new person with less experience in the company getting more money than me for the same role. Do you think they will email you back? Do they have a phone number you could call?

This is NHS.

It's awful isn't it. I can't believe how people are treated.

I have a phone number for the HR, I have tried to call today but there was no answer.

Very unprofessional to do this and not contact you beforehand. I’d try chase it up and ask for feedback. Especially if they said they would let you know by a certain timeframe!

It is odd. I have been for a few NHS posts recently, some successful, some not but they always let me know.

That's very rude way to treat an NHS HCP. I'd be contacting the lead person on the job interview to give them some feedback for next time they interview.

M1212 · 07/03/2022 17:03

I've always been told of the outcome that day or a few days later (NHS also). I'd be fuming if there was radio silence.

That's what happens, you need to move regularly to make more money

I guess it could be another identical role they are advertising for maybe?

Even if they had taken my mobile number down wrongly at the interview, it is correct on the TRAC profile, and my landline number and email address is there. I just keep thinking I must have been really bad at interview or something.

Something weird will have gone on there, it may be a horrible dept to work in with a disorganised manager so maybe a blessing in disguise. Thanks

One of the interviewing panel lives in my village and since the interview I keep seeing her everywhere and have to dive behind shelves in the supermarket to avoid her ! Maybe I will just ask her next time I see her !

One of the panel did not even maintain any eye contact throughout the interview. This is despite me having a lot of email contact with her in my current role for the past four years and going above and beyond for her patients time and time again in my current role. I am beyond perplexed !

How long ago was your interview? Is it possible they hired someone who didn’t work out so they’re now having to readvertise? Still poor they never contacted you originally though.

M1212 · 07/03/2022 17:28

Yes definitely tell her when you see her next time, that there was no outcome telephone contact , let alone feedback and you're concerned as that's not standard practice for HCPs.

It was two weeks ago today, so no time for the preferred candidate to have started the role.

How do you know the person who didn’t maintain eye contact doesn’t have autism? Not everyone can make eye contact easily.

Not North Brink is it? 🤔

True but along with the lack of contact let alone feedback, it builds a picture of being unprofessional.

Babyroobs · 07/03/2022 17:55

Even 2 weeks after the interview, and three weeks after another, the TRAC portal hasn't been updated.

I went for an interview I never heard back from in the nhs a couple of years ago and trac never updated either which I found really unusual as I work for the nhs and usually find job related communication very good . I had one missed call a couple of days after the interview but no message left and no way to call back

Yes every other NHS job I have gone for recently , so about eight, have me know within the timeframe they said they would, whether I have been successful or not.
