Waiting for Feedback from Interview - Struggling to Concentrate!

I had an interview on Friday for a very good job opportunity. It didn’t go as well as I had hoped but I’ve followed up with the interviewer.

They’ve said they will let me know by this Friday whether I’ve got through to the last (panel) stage. I’m really struggling to concentrate and keep checking my emails…but it could be that they don’t let me know until the end of the week!

Anyone else waiting for feedback following a recent interview?

We’re on the other side - interviewed someone on Friday, we’re ready to offer them the job (meeting the ultimate boss) - just waiting for them to pick up their personal email - we really want her but we’re trying not to come across an over eager!😂

@Macmickmoo oh good luck, I hope your interviewee accepts the position! I wish mine was that proactive with their response…particularly given they are one of the biggest employers in the world!!

Yep! 5 interviews with the same company. I've been waiting a week. I don't mind if it's a rejection, it's just the waiting that's killing me!

@Moonflower12345 gosh I thought the 3 stage process for my role was long enough!! How long have you been told you may have to wait for your response? Keeping my fingers crossed for you Smile x

@OCM19 it was a bit of a vague as soon as we can but I didn't push it, kicking myself now, it was really quick up to now but I guess lots goes on behind the scenes. I actually enjoy interviews so it was fine really, just a nice chat with lots of lovely new people!

Yep had my 3rd and final interview this morning - the higher ups wanted to get me before making and offer. It got off to a bad start so I’ve gone from very confident to not at all.
They have said I’ll here by the end of the week but hoping to hear one way or the other today / tomorrow.
Hope you get through to the next stage

I too didn't feel like my interview got off to a good start which is probably why the wait is so much harder as I don't think I will be successful.

How's it going? We've had some positive news - candidate still interested not sure why it's taken them so long to reply but they are still onboard the train... we try to reduce the waiting game for our candidates. I don't think it's a bad sign though - we tell the definite no's very quickly.

I had one this morning for a job I'm covering following my predecessor's promotion. My interview was pretty bad especially at the start. Its civil service so hope to hear by Christmas but who knows.

@Macmickmoo I’ve been offered the job. Just waiting on details of salary and working hours though which I should get tomorrow.
I’m surprised given my interview performance but then I’m hard on myself so maybe it wasn’t that bad!

@Macmickmoo I can't believe they kept you waiting so long! Its very good of you to let people know even if its a no - I'm finding more and more companies don't do this and it is so rude!

I'm in the same boat! Stage 2 (of 3) interview yesterday. Some bits went well, some not so well, so who knows. They said I wouldn't hear until next week, which isn't stopping me from refreshing my emails every 2 mins. Totally ridiculous, especially as they rang rather than emailing to tell me I was through to the 2nd interview!

Fingers crossed to everyone waiting for good news.

I’ve got my an interview today (fortunately there’s only one) I’m a nervous wreck. I haven’t had an interview for years.

Well we got to the bottom of why our candidate didn't reply and let's just say it was totally our fault and we will own it. Fortunately, she was keen enough to get in touch and ask very politely if we needed anything else from her - or we would have lost a brilliant candidate on a stupid screw-up.

Amazing, well done @Idontgiveagriffindamn! I didn’t get though to the next stage, but I’m actually quite relieved! While it was an excellent opportunity and A LOT of money, we’re thinking of trying for a second baby on the new year and I don’t think it would have been the right time for our family circumstances.

Good luck @Groapple and yes definitely look at is as just a chat! I hadn't had interviews for 10 years before I started looking recently and it has really helped me to think that, and as a bonus I've met some lovely people.

I didn't get the one I had 5 rounds for, but it is ok. I did my best and I met some lovely people. I do have another offer on the table so thinking about that now.

And I am always nervous before I conduct the interview - it's really important to us that we create the right impression with the candidate - none of us want to be the reason the candidate walked away. It's hard to come across well on video - you have to keep your energy levels up - I do lots of high-pitched vocal noises beforehand and have a cup of hot lemon tea to hand.
