How much do you earn

Have previously come across a similar thread on another forum and it was so interesting! Basically people commented with their job, age and how much they earn. I hate my job/industry and feel it doesn't pay well like I was led to believe but also feel I have no idea what's out there career/job wise and how much various jobs would earn so what I could do.

I'm 27, a solicitor in Scotland and earn £35k

I had no idea HR was so well paid Shock

I work in an international role supporting our teams in 50 countries - and I've been doing it for 16 years. So yes it's a high salary but it's a stressful job that requires specific experience I've gained over the years.

To the PP who said there was no gender gap, before I had children I was earning £68k working with a male peer with the same scope as me earning £89k. Why?

And no I've never sucked a dick for a job title or a salary boost.

And that's not to suggest your job isn't also stressful and requiring of specific experience. I read my message back and thought it sounded dismissive of you.

You certainly deserve more money than you are paid for the important work you do.

There are enough people on here who work in HR to confirm that the gender pay gap does indeed exist.

Weren't they even slightly embarrassed? 2p per hour pay rise! Might as well have spat in your tea.

Whatever people earn has nothing to do with anyone else. IMO

Nenevalleykayaker · 27/01/2021 23:20

Retail. Early 50s. Location obvious £209.28 a month. 6 Hour contract but generally work 25+ hours.

Furloughed on 6 hours however, as is holiday pay based on 6 hours. Welcome to retail !

I also sell online however which makes up the income a bit.
I’m extremely thrifty too. ie I never spend anything!
Pension is a good enough size though.

Having plenty qualifications, just no career ambition Grin
