Not been paid, need advice!

I’ll try to keep it short!

I haven’t been paid correctly since October. I worked till the end of November, after which I went on maternity leave. We get paid on the last working day of the month, and when I checked my account at the end of November I’d been paid some random amount (think £200 as opposed to £1750). Told my line manager who said they’d sort it.

Nothing has happened since. I’ve emailed a few times, and tried to call, but I’m not getting any response. My payslip is weird. It doesn’t state any reason like hours worked for the random amount. Then the same thing happend in December for around £200. But I shouldn’t be receiving anything from them at all as I’m not entitled to SMP. I got in touch again earlier this week, explaining about the fact I’m still owed money, and being paid random amounts as I’m equally concerned that it’s money I shouldn’t be getting!

Does anyone have any suggestions? It’s making me really anxious and it’s the last thing I need with a poorly newborn to look after Sad do I need to give them longer to sort it seeing as people may not be back at work yet?

That’s awful ☹️

IHateYourCarpet · 23/03/2018 14:45

Update!

HR got back to me today and advised me to wait and see what my payslip said on Monday Hmmthough surely they know how much I'm going to be paid and slips would already be printed and ready to post! So I guess I'm in suspense all weekend.

I just don't know how much more I can do. I'm being forceful, but it's like banging my head against a brick wall with a screaming baby in the background.

Anyway! Another worry, when I DO eventually get the money, is it going to cause issues with my MA? Because surely it'll look like I'm working again getting a big payment in the middle of maternity leave?

What a ridiculous response! I hope it's correct on Monday for you Thanks

IHateYourCarpet · 24/03/2018 05:55

Thanks Love. It's not Angry I got an email notification saying my e-payslip was ready, and there's nothing on it.

I guess I'm at the point of seeking legal advice, paid for with money I don't have so I can get money I'm owed Angry

What a total crock. I would do what a PP said and take it straight to the top via email.

IHateYourCarpet · 24/03/2018 06:49

I think I'm going to have to. I just can't believe both HR and the regional manager are ALL ignoring this. I'm just waiting for a colleague to get back to me with an email address or number for them, she's not office based and management are being really funny about giving it to her Hmm but if they won't give it to me/anyone I guess all I can do next is sue them! Unless anyone else has any ideas?

At which rate I kind of want to sue them for undue distress too Angry

To be honest, I'm thinking of saying I'm leaving at the end of my years mat leave and demanding my accrued holiday payment now. Because I really don't want to repeat this all over again!

How awful. I think you should contact ACAS with your update too

angularmerkel · 24/03/2018 08:11

Just seen this. Is your employer Tesco?
My ds has not had the correct pay from them every month for more than 2 years. They're rubbish.

angularmerkel · 24/03/2018 08:12

Also I think a trip to your local CAB might be a good idea.

IHateYourCarpet · 24/03/2018 17:33

Oh! I hadn't thought of CAB. I'll contact ACAS too. I think I'm done trying to deal with my employer directly. It's not getting me anywhere.

And no, not Tesco! Though that's equally shocking! I'll happily name and shame ... as soon as I have my money!

OP posts:
IHateYourCarpet · 28/03/2018 07:14

Still frustrated, and still updating!

ACAS helped me draft a letter. If there's no response within five working days, they'll be helping me pursue it Angry

If they haven't paid up within five days, I'll have to cancel mine and DH's first holiday in two years. Because I can't afford the uncertainty of maybe still not having the money in a few months time, and not having money to pay for day to day things. And then if have to go to meetings, etc. with my union rep and head office, what am I supposed to do with DS!? It's just me and DS after the holiday, DH will be deployed overseas and we'll be hours away from family. I don't really know anyone here well enough to leave him with in the day, so I guess I'll have to fork out for childcare too Sad I'm just so sick of being stressed about this.

its not Boots is it?

IHateToCashew · 28/03/2018 10:31

Not Boots either! It's a well known, but not well regarded, care provider.

Interestingly enough, I had an email first thing this morning in response to the letter. The head of payroll is investigating and had assumed I'd been paid, so will get back to me today. We'll see what happens I guess!

IHateToCashew · 28/03/2018 10:32

And name change fail Grinoh well!

LoveProsecco · 28/03/2018 20:00

Did they get back to you today? If so hope it's a positive outcome!

mcdog · 28/03/2018 21:02

What's happening with this OP??

IHateToCashew · 29/03/2018 07:49

Absolutely fuck all. That's what's happened. No email, no phone call, nothing.

I'll honour the letter, give them their five working days, but I'm not holding out much hope.

LoveProsecco · 29/03/2018 07:52

How awful OP Angry

IHateToCashew · 29/03/2018 08:02

I'm just getting increasingly angry. If it's not hit my account by next Wednesday, I'm going to have to cancel the holiday, just in case the fight for the money continues Angry

TittyGolightly · 29/03/2018 08:23

Small claims court. File it online.

IHateYourCarpet · 05/04/2018 16:28

Got an email yesterday explaining the regional manager needed to authorise payment. All well and good, she was emailed yesterday apparently. Should be in my account tomorrow.

I have 24 hours to cancel my holiday. So if it's not there first thing in the morning, I won't be going away with DH. Which I'm gutted about. It's likely to be our only time alone together for the next three years thanks to a posting abroad.

OP posts:
LoveProsecco · 05/04/2018 20:21

OP how ridiculous! I really hope it arrives to,ottos in order that you can get your holiday

IHateToCashew · 06/04/2018 07:29

No money. I really don't know why I'm surprised. I'm going to call and chase it at nine when they open, but I really don't have much hope.

I think it's going to have to go on my credit card. Though god knows how I'm going to pay it off until the money does come through. I just really don't want to miss out on our first, and only holiday in a five year span Sad

IHateToCashew · 06/04/2018 08:13

I really want to be clear this is NOT a begging thread in case anyone thinks that.

This is just me expressing complete and utter rage at my former employer.

FrolickingForklift · 06/04/2018 14:32

Have you spoken to anyone yet?
