Cafe/Cake Shop name ideas!

I've found a great location for a business I've wanted to start for years. For the past few weeks I've been putting ideas together to make it a reality, but I'm stuck on the name!

I think I'd like the name to focus more on the cake side, and sound classy or luxurious (the cakes will be, and suits the location) and less focussed on the cafe side as it'll be more about the baked items but a small lunch menu will be available.

Avoiding names to do with tea rooms or coffee, and not keen on having the word cafe in the title. Not asking for much am I? Grin

One I came across that I liked is "The Cake Kitchen", it sounds more modern and more interesting than a cafe I feel. What do you think?

Possibly "Rachel's Cake Kitchen"? I don't mind sharing my name as I've name changed! I've added a logo idea that I found online, and I think this name would look good in a similar style?

I'd love something that sounds modern and high end.
Does anybody know any great names that I could learn from?

Any ideas or opinions would be great!

Had another thought ( whilst sitting eat a bar if galaxy )

The cake house

Or

The bake house

Tinty · 19/09/2017 15:23

How about Rachel's Sweet Success.

whatashower · 19/09/2017 15:25

It's nigh on impossible to be original if you stick with cake/bakery themes.

How about focusing on your local area history to find some inspiration for unique/odd word pairings that will makes sense in the community but be unusual enough to stand out/be relatively unique online/ in social media? For example if you were in Sussex near the stomping ground of AAMilne you could call it The Bee and Bear or The Bear and Balloon or simply Piglets 🤣. If it's not too outing tell us where you will be (or bee) ............pleeeeeeeeease!

Tinty · 19/09/2017 15:28

And please make mini cakes half the size of the big cakes and charge a third less for them. Then when I want a cake but am trying to be good I can buy a smaller one and pretend its calories don't count (because it's smaller don't you know!), and when I am not trying to be good I can buy a big one because it is better value for money. Oh and please open it in my town! Grin

Let Us Eat Cake!
Eat. Cake.

badbadhusky · 19/09/2017 15:38

Marie Antionette's? (Nod to her famous 'let them eat cake!' line.)

Can you tell I have important work to do? Grin

LilySwamp · 19/09/2017 15:40

The Cake Maker.

badbadhusky · 19/09/2017 15:40

Or 'Revoltionary Cakes' with the image of Marie Antionette on your boxes/bags and 'Let them eat cake!' as your strapline. Revolutionary also works if you are going to innovate on the flavours. Wink

FoofFighter · 19/09/2017 15:42

"The Cake Kitchen" sounds far better and classier than "Rachel's Cake Kitchen" imo.

Anything with someone's name in sounds a bit trashy and cheap, sorry.

FoofFighter · 19/09/2017 15:44

Can I put a shout out for at least one choice of dairy free cake too ;) so easy to cater for, yet many don't and poor 4yo dd has to have a banana instead and I of course can't have cake in front of her!!

IceCreamIceCream · 19/09/2017 15:44

Mixing Bowl- brings to mind the experimental aspect?

Cake At Rachel's? Cake@Rachel's

Walkforvictory · 19/09/2017 16:26

Whisk

badbadhusky · 19/09/2017 16:29

Ooh, I like Whisk. There may be other baking terms or equipment that also work.

'Figure of 8' (for folding in.)
Rise!

amousehaseatenmypaddlingpool · 19/09/2017 16:35

The one word names 'Cake', 'Whisk' etc sound more upmarket.

It reminds me of all those 'cool' cook books like 'plenty', 'tender' etc.

KenBarlow · 19/09/2017 16:40

I like Whisk! I saw "The Wooden Spoon" once too which I liked.

The figure of 8 is a nice idea, but reminds me of a voluptuous woman which may be appropriate with how much of my baking I will have to sample Grin

If I had a cake shop, I would call it:

Whisk & Tin Cake Co.

I don't know why.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 19/09/2017 16:50

The tartful dodger.

I like the arty sounding single word ones too, like

Bake
Rise
Whisk

And love Gingerbread (and the Shakespeare quote)

Still struggling to find a name I like more than The Cake Kitchen, yet I'm still convinced I might find something better!

Think I need to have a read through the whole thread tonight and make notes.

As much as I enjoy the funny/play on word names like Bake My Day, I don't think I'd use one because they're too jokey and I'm very serious I'll have you know Wink still can't beat Rachy Cakey Art Grin

I do like names that begin with 'The'
Like:
The Rolling Pin
The Gingerbread House
The Cake House
The Cake Kitchen
The Wooden Spoon

I like the short names like Whisk but although I want modern ish I think they're too modern for me Grin

NapQueen · 19/09/2017 18:28

Sponge.

badbadhusky · 19/09/2017 18:48

The Golden Whisk - signalling a prestige product.

chocdog · 19/09/2017 18:51

Cake News
Sweet
Cake That
Caking Bad

Forrin words eg:
Sucre
Harina

I do like The Cake Kitchen or Rachel's Kitchen or just CAKE
