Cafe/Cake Shop name ideas!

I've found a great location for a business I've wanted to start for years. For the past few weeks I've been putting ideas together to make it a reality, but I'm stuck on the name!

I think I'd like the name to focus more on the cake side, and sound classy or luxurious (the cakes will be, and suits the location) and less focussed on the cafe side as it'll be more about the baked items but a small lunch menu will be available.

Avoiding names to do with tea rooms or coffee, and not keen on having the word cafe in the title. Not asking for much am I? Grin

One I came across that I liked is "The Cake Kitchen", it sounds more modern and more interesting than a cafe I feel. What do you think?

Possibly "Rachel's Cake Kitchen"? I don't mind sharing my name as I've name changed! I've added a logo idea that I found online, and I think this name would look good in a similar style?

I'd love something that sounds modern and high end.
Does anybody know any great names that I could learn from?

Any ideas or opinions would be great!

Rachel's cake house ??
Sounds homely and welcoming? Kitchen is good too tho very professional 😁😁

Lobsterquadrille2 · 19/09/2017 08:34

The most popular (and there are loads) cake place in my town is simply called Juliet's. Everyone knows it. I think that Rachel's would work too.

mummabear17 · 19/09/2017 08:34

The cake place?

THE cake place as in THE place to be haha 👍😁

WillowWeeping · 19/09/2017 08:40

The cake kitchen

Anything alluding to the high end aspect of a business ends up looking aspirational and a bit naff imo so no to anything with couture/fancy/boutique.

Also if you're going for a modern feel avoid the obviously twee: the cake stand, sugar and spice, gingerbread house etc.

Joinourclub · 19/09/2017 08:43

If you call it Rachels cake kitchen it will just end up being 'Rachels'.

Eat, Drink, Cake

Patisserie Rachel!
Cake Plate
Pastry Pantry
Gateaux Plateau
Kitchen Sponge

niceandspicey · 19/09/2017 08:51

Just 'rachels'

QueenieMum · 19/09/2017 08:55

I'd keep it simple. The Cake Kitchen or Rachel's Cake Kitchen are fab. If you put gingerbread, patisserie, modern, etc in the name you have to live up to it and do fantastic gingerbread, patisserie, etc. I'm not saying you can't do fantastic gingerbread, etc,but it might put undue pressure on you. Something simple with a catch-all name you could evolve. I like The Cake Station too! Really good luck with your venture

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 19/09/2017 08:59

I like Patisserie Rachel if it's a well heeled village.
Or Baked by Rachel
Or just Rachel's.
Have to admit though The Gingerbread House is great. You could have an elaborate one in the window along with your other cakes. At Christmas you could do Gingerbread houses for sale.
Best of luck (always been my dream to but I'm a bit more Pie heavy , in more ways than one Smile

Cake Face

Threenme · 19/09/2017 09:06

I think as you're going for class has the be "the queen of tarts"Grin!!! In seriousness I love the gingerbread house!

IamEarthymama · 19/09/2017 09:10

The Cake Stand

Slice of Heaven

I do like The Cakery, it doesn't matter if it is a made-up word. It conveys the home-made aspect and is a pune; what's not to like?

I have said Cake in my head so often now that I may have to check if it is a real word.

IamEarthymama · 19/09/2017 09:14

Oh and can I put in a request please? Can you have a choice of gluten free cakes please?

Otherwise I will have to stand outside the Cakery with my nose pressed against the window, a single tear rolling down my (plump) cheek!

I second the request for gluten free! And not just a solitary brownie ;)

The gingerbread house is my favourite out of all suggestions so far

Rachel's Cakery

Cakery as a word is growling on me.

KenBarlow · 19/09/2017 13:11

Can't believe the number of posts on this thread, thank you so much for your suggestions!

Absolutely love Rachy Cakey Art with Billy Ray Cyrus on loop Grin I can't help but love that man since his role in Hannah Montana.

The Road name might be an idea! It sounds quite good.

Earthymama and dontquoteme, your cries for gluten free have been heard and will be catered for Grin

What about 'Hansel and Gretel's' with a nod to the witch's edible cake-constructed house?

Radyward · 19/09/2017 13:53

A slice of ( your town name ) eg a slice of lytham by rachel

KenBarlow · 19/09/2017 15:01

I like the slice of idea but doesn't go with my location name unfortunately! Sad
