Eeek, talked about my wanker boss here . and it hasn't got any better, except he hasn't been here much. Now I have a meeting on Tuesday with him during which I'm fairly convinced he'll piss me off even more. I'm absolutely dreading it. This week I've been deluged by sharp, rude emails, some of which are asking me to update on stuff I haven't even been asked to do! And then getting short with me for not having done it! I've been replying to say er, you didn't ask me to do this. I promise I'm not crap, honestly I'm not - he's just awful, disorganised, a control freak. My predecessor said she felt dread at the idea of work on the days he was in the office. I feel physically sick at the idea of coming to work on Tuessday and I'm not a wimp, honest. Shall I go off sick for a few days, starting now, instead of telling them to stuff it? Any advice appreciated, am really getting myself in a state. No time to preview, sorry if this is garbled.

Way to go, WWW !!!

Tinker · 28/05/2004 16:31

Hope something positive happens about this www. If not, isn't there that site where you can name and shame bullying bosses? Good luck, forget about him for the next 4 days

Twink · 28/05/2004 18:07

I've only been away from Mumsnet for 10 hours and all this happens !

WWW, hope you can have a really chilled-out weekend and forget about the tosser.

As for the rest of you, brilliant - Soapbox had me in fits, PPH, I'm in awe.

Hope all the virtual support (thanks heavens for preview, that came out as viral first time) helps re-enforce what you already know: you are bright, right, reasonable, professional and deserve far,far better than this.

Take care and definitely DLTBGYD xxx

serenequeen · 28/05/2004 18:08

katierocket · 28/05/2004 18:50

good for you www, there is nothing worth than working with tossers, it's such a waste of valuable time - how do people like this get to be managers?

all hail pph!

codswallop · 28/05/2004 18:55

tigermoth · 28/05/2004 19:11

www, well done - he deserves grassing up and those words hit the mark perfectly. pph - impressive stuff. Am I right in thinking you are have a legal background?

Now waiting to see what happens next - goss from the tosser's boss!

willow2 · 28/05/2004 19:40

SenoraPostrophe · 28/05/2004 20:10

go www!

I've missed all this - sounds a nightmare. Hope it goes well with the big boss.

Janh · 28/05/2004 20:54

www, what news????

WideWebWitch · 28/05/2004 22:03

No news, I called him back, he wasn't there, tried again an hour later and he'd left for the day. His message on my mobile said he'd speak to me on Tuesday if we didn't speak today so I guess we'll do it then. So I guess I just have to get over the anxiety of a meeting with tosser guy at 9am on Tuesday, if I go in.

littlemissbossy · 28/05/2004 22:08

www try not to worry, don't let it spoil your weekend, have a relax, etc. Hopefully top boss will have something to say on Tuesday. Hope it all goes well

Janh · 28/05/2004 22:10

Well, it would have been helpful to speak to Tosser's boss before you went back in on Tuesday, but since you couldn't (he is a fervent believer in POETS day, obviously?) I hope you can forget the whole set-up until then and face Tosser on Tuesday with a smile as if everything is fine!

Enjoy your weekend anyway, flower!

musica · 28/05/2004 22:12

Oh www - I just saw this. I'm sorry you're having a s*itty time. V good email! Hope you get a good result. There's nothing worse than a wanker in the office is there. Have a good Bank holiday - try not to think about it! (((hug)))

princesspeahead · 28/05/2004 22:38

Aha! the instant response to your email is A Good Thing. I'd go into your meeting with Tosser McToss (brilliant name - subtler than Wanker McWank, I feel) feeling and acting confident and slightly supercilious. But be prepared that he may have an inkling that something is going on (or more than an inkling, if TopBoss has spoken to him already). And if he attempts to bully, TELL him that you won't be bullied, and that he can either conduct the meeting in a professional and courteous manner or have it without you present.
Well done, I think you are being very brave and tough when the easy option is to just say "bugger it" and walk out...

But I'm on holiday on Tuesday for a week! Without internet access! I'll never find out what happens! Aurghghghghghghgh!

mammya · 28/05/2004 23:05

Rooting for you www! Have a good weekend.
