Hello! I'm a regular, but I've name changed.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 29/12/2011 19:54

So, to confirm I'm a regular.
River of Sweetcorn
Poo Cube
Shitting Elf, and..
..My favourite MN lines, "..No, I'm Angela Henandez" and "Oh my God, your minge!" Grin

I've had to name change because I've just placed an ad in the classified section. Apologies if its not good etiquette to broadcast the fact I've placed an ad, but I'm really excited and I have paid Grin

So if you'd be so kind as to spare a minute and have a little nosey at the site. It's advertising our new line of incense. Perhaps come back and tell me what you think?

All the writing on the website, including the fragrance descriptions were done by me. I've been here long enough to know how some of you are sticklers for correct grammar and perfect English, so if you have any constructive criticism I'd love to hear it. I'm not ashamed to be the first to put my hand up and admit I'm not the most eloquent of writers, and I'm not in the least bit academic, unlike some of you lot. ( it's the main reason why I stay away from the heavy discussions, as I struggle to to write in words, what I have in my head!) but we couldn't afford to get a professional to do the job, so it fell to me to do it instead. So please be gentle!

I hope that our products really catch your eye. Our aim is to make our products as fresh and as contemporary as we can, and really be different to other makers of incense.

The website has a link to my DH's eBay page (SAYSELL), but I have one myself, not linked on the website. He already said that any money made through my page, (fragrantfancies2010) I keep. Any money he makes I also keep, it'll be lovely if you bear that in mind, and order from my page, please please please? Thanks :)

Lastly, DH's eBay page is very basic. Please don't feel suspicious over it. It will get all spruced up and looking lovely as soon as he can work with the same designer who worked on the website, which will be as soon as is possible. It still works fine, and he's already sold incense to customers since placing his listing a couple of days ago. Mine is more put together though.

So tell me what you think, it'd be interesting to hear what you have to say.
Thank you!

(sorry again if I shouldn't have started this thread, but I'm just really excited to have the website up and running at last. If it causes too many problems, I'll have this thread removed I promise)

Thanks again.

YES! It wasn't that horrid stale ciggy smell that you usually come across, it was very pleasent and nothing how you would normally associate smoking with.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 06/01/2012 17:30

Egyptian Musk.

It's light. Not so much fresh, as I consider the ones that are fresh belong in the Citrus category, and the citrusy scents are moderate to heavy in strength. However it is clean as its described, and defiantly a light one.

So hopefully won't knock yer block off.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 06/01/2012 17:33

Well yes! I should bloody well hope it's not like a stale ciggy smell Shock Can you imagine!!

OP posts:
PippiLongBottom · 06/01/2012 17:34

I'm just not sure about musky, I think its the muskiness that is knocking me sick. Sorry, I am certainly not casting aspersions on your product- the kids like them. Thinking about it, lots of perfumes make me feel ill, poison, opium, coco etc.

I was thinking about candied pink from the ebay descriptions.

molepom · 06/01/2012 18:01

Pippi = What about the Japaneese water one? That sounds like right up your street.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 06/01/2012 18:07

Oh don't worry about voicing your opinions on the smell Pippi.

Im pretty certain we all know that that our tastes are subjective and vary from person to person, so if you think a certain incense smells like stinky cow dung, then declare it! You never know, it might make someone buy it. Wink

Candied Pink is really, really sweet. It is literally like having a candy floss machine in your front room! Very nice all the same don't get me wrong, but it's strong smelling. Thinking about it more, candy floss is not something I'd personnaly consider to be fresh and light. It's sugary and has a lot of oomph.

However, in this instance perhaps it's best you go with what sounds good to you from the descriptions, rather than what I advise. It might be better for you to go with your preferred choice rather than me telling you which to go for. And please try the oil in the oil burner. It may be the strength of the sticks that's making you feel quesy. The oil in the water makes the scent far more mellow.

It's a shame you don't live near to any of the retailers, then you could smell nearly all of them in the shop before buying.

PippiLongBottom · 06/01/2012 18:20

The candy floss smell might be ok actually or the japanese water. I just don't like these, dark, eastern, mysterious ones. They evoke the middle east and harem's in my head Hmm.

If I get a scented candle I always choose vanilla. I don't have a burner, I have the sticks in a shot glass full of flour. Classy. Grin

molepom · 06/01/2012 18:22

I've got the sticks in a glass of flour too as I cant find the burners. Grin

PippiLongBottom · 06/01/2012 18:33

Another classy chick. Wink

Fragrantfancies2010 · 06/01/2012 22:15

Go with your feelings Pippi then.

If you normally go for Vanilla scented things, which is a very sweet smell anyway, then Candied Pink may be right for you. It has vanilla listed in the ingredients and it is sugary sweet. Theres nothing exotic about this one. :)

PippiLongBottom · 06/01/2012 22:27

Bought Candied Pink. Fingers crossed!

youjusthaventearnedityetbaby · 06/01/2012 23:30

Just come on to say thank you! I've got Red Thirst which is gorgeous... and a sample of Candied Pink which I love just as much :) and I love the Egyptian Musk oil too... I've used it in my burner and a bit on me too... Will definitely order that next time...
Very satisfied customer... I'll definitely be back for more!

Fragrantfancies2010 · 08/01/2012 12:45

I hope you like your choice Pippi! Your pack was posted Saturday morning, so you might get it tomorrow.

I told DH what you said about Traditional styles smells, how the Musk in them make you feel sick. I'm not sure if he put a freebie in with your order, but I did tell him that if he was going to, then he needs to make sure it's something sweet and light.

If it turns out you like the Candied Pink, then for future reference go for smells that are listed within the Fruity category on the website. That category includes Coco Mango, Sweet Sensation, The Lick, Bottled Blond etc. They are fragrances that have a lot of berries and other fruit listed in the ingredients as well as vanilla and other sweet smells. That might be more your thing.

That's wonderful to hear Youjusthavent, thank you for posting. :) Have you had any friends or family round when you had used the incense that noticed the smell?

I shall show DH what you have posted. He'll be really pleased.

NOW you're talking!!!!! I love it! I have thrown my scented candles in the bin. I might try the Japenese Water next. Basically I want something that doesn't smell of incense Grin.

I will be donating the other sticks to my weed smoking friends.

molepom · 09/01/2012 16:02

Dont throw the candles in the bin! There's loads of posters on here who would take them off your hands! Make a little money or get some back from them! Then buy more sticks Grin

PippiLongBottom · 09/01/2012 16:13

Oh they aren't fancy ones- just pound shop Grin, and they're nearly empty. I'm too frugal for wastage.

molepom · 09/01/2012 16:14

lol, ok.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 17/01/2012 11:14

Hello again :)

Ive not been on here for a long while, nearly two weeks since I last logged in! We're moving house in February so a lot of my spare time is spent packing boxes and other things, so any posts from me until we've moved and got settled in will be a bit sporadic and few and far between.

Pippi, that's great news you like the Candied Pink, and I'm glad you went with your choice, otherwise I'd have sent you the Egyptian Musk and that would have gone in the bin as well!

I'm guessing you used the sticks a few times by now, do they still smell good to you? They are very strong smelling and I remember you mentioning the last lot made you feel sick as they were burning right next to you in the room.

Me and Dh have sold a few on EBay and the shops are still taking orders from us, so people must be liking them! He took samples down to Affleck's Palace last week so were waiting to hear back a verdict.

We're currently working on making 5 more incense fragrances. :) though they won't be ready til later this year.

Fragrantfancies2010 · 26/01/2012 11:48

Hello to all.

I'm hoping those who bought incense from us are still very satisfied with their buys.

DH is offering 10 packs of incense for the price of 7 over the next 20 days. Might be worth looking at if you know someone with a birthday coming up or you have family members that you think might like to try some.

Jus' saying. Wink

And please remember to leave feedback on DH or mine eBay page. The poor guy frets so much thinking the worst until he receives positive comments from buyers!

Many thanks.
