I've been promoted! But no-one seems happy about it except me!

I've been promoted, and not just one grade up, but two (which is very very rare). My boss said "Goodness!" (and nothing else - I am now the same grade as her). Her boss told me frankly that he didn't think I was up to it. The head of our office said he was surprised, and was I?

No-one said well done or congratulations. And they wonder why morale is low in our office??

Well done and congratulations!. Haven't you got a bitch for a boss (re not letting you book holidays?) or am I confusing you with someone else? If so it sounds like she in turn has a bitch for a boss so you're quite right about morale, no wonder!

No, WWW, that's me with BitchBoss! She's taken tomorrow as leave and has booked me in for a 0915 meeting so I can't go to DD2's 1st morning at "big school." Fortunately, DD2 couldn't care less, but I do .

And CONGRATULATIONS on your promotion - the reaction of the others sounds very like sour grapes to me (SherlockLGJ did a fab sour grape link the other day - will see if I can find it as it might make you smile)

WWW, believe me, now I've got my promotion there will be no holds barred in our "relationship"!! She is as weak as pishwasser as my gran would say. The only trouble is that I think she would probably cry before I even got started. One of the men in our team, who is on the verge of retiring, says to her every time she tries to have a go at him for something "Am I bovvered?" (a la Catherine Tait). Red face and cat's bum mouth result...

As she is on leave tomorrow, I intend leaving early to COLLECT DD2 from school, anyway. Will she know? Am I bovvered?!

Fantastic feeling of power. Cannot wait for performance review, which was due in June, to stick the knife in. Have all my ammo ready with facts and dates to back it up.

Congratulations! Definitely a case of Sherlocks grapes if you ask me! Although (and I dont know anything about your Bitchboss threads) but i have to say i would think twice about sticking the knife in at your review or they might think you have a touch of Sherlocks grapes too! (Smug smart arse has much greater effect on victim......)

Thank you all for your congratulations - I'm feeling a bit better about it now. And will def collect DD2 tomorrow and might take the rest of the week off to settle her in to her new class. I can ask her boss (the one who thinks I am an incompetent fool) to agree the leave (which he will) when she is off tomorrow.
