Very sad news we are afraid, the lovely Mumsnetter Etotheipiplus1equals0’s wonderful DH died suddenly and shockingly on February 24th. There are no words, we are incredibly sorry that life has been so cruel. She and their two little children (just 9 and 6 years old) are very much in our hearts and thoughts and we send so much love Her thread in bereavement is here….

We were so glad when she accepted our offer of a woolly hug, she will be able to wrap herself and the children in it and know it comes full of love from so many. So we are coming with a request for your help, either crafting or donating

He was an astronomer with a great love of music, the beach and watching sport on the tv.

Important crafting info
Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook. Please knot off VERY carefully when finishing or changing colour and sew your ends in, thank you! No blocking please, makes it much easier to join squares.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

I am on a lengthy jury service and would really appreciate it folk could wait until June 1st to post. Otherwise DH tends to just pile things up in random places, it would be much safer to hang back!

Last posting for this project is July 1st.

Any chance I could use DB Banana instead of the Drops Yellow please @KnottyAndPistey? I've made a pact not to buy more yarn until I've reduced my stash (currently 3 sackfuls ), so trying very hard not to go to Wool Warehouse! No bother if not, I have enough shades in the other colours.

Erm, I’ve tried to do a starry sky over the sea. Quite happy with the sky but not sure about the sea. DH says leave it be (but I think he is just bored of me asking about my crocheting etc). Is the sea ok? Add more of the turquoise/pale blue?

I have DB banana as well @Zhx3 so I'll use some to colour match yours.

I’m still working on my squares, @KnottyAndPistey, but I’m a bit under the weather, so haven’t much energy for knitting. I’ve had a cold since Friday, but lost my sense of smell this morning, so had a test today - a rapid lateral flow and a PCR and the rapid one came back positive, so I am locked up for the next ten days (unless the PCR comes back as negative and the other one was a false positive).

But on the upside, when I feel better, there will be nothing to distract me from knitting, and getting my squares for all the blankets done.
