The Blanket for Twittlebee and her family, lovely folk, we need help.

So desperately sad, the lovely poster TwittleBee’s beautiful baby son Roy devastatingly died just five days after his birth, there really are no words, we are incredibly sorry that life has been so cruel to him, them, his big brother, to them all. We send so much love and are keeping them all in our thoughts. Twittle has been supported by her wonderful friends over on their September 2019 antenatal thread over here.
We were so glad when lovely Twittle accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, together we can make something very beautiful for them all, for his life filled with love. We hope you will help us.
Lovely Twittle has given us some beautiful insights
“I'll share a bit about who he was, is and was meant to be... Our little Roy was our Rainbow baby (just taken by a storm too soon) and he was our little fox too, he was meant to be coming home to a woodland fox themed nursery. His ashes are scattered by drift wood and fallen trees on the beautiful wild beach. He was meant to be all wrapped up in blues, a proper little boy. I don't know if that may help for inspiration? “
It certainly does, doesn’t it?
We shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we can match you up. If you would like to join in but need donated wool, we can help there too. Please message with your offer of help.
The Yarn we are Using….
Artesano Superwash Merino DK
Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
Drops Merino Extra Fine DK
Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK
Katia Merino 100% DK
King Cole Luxury Merino DK (new this time)
Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
Patons Merino Extrafine DK
Our colours…
For whole squares..
Blues, this is our focus colour, to wrap Roy’s memory in blue.
Greens
Then as accent colours (not whole squares)
Oranges, lots of little foxes would be wonderful.
Taupe (Jenny Watson Pure Merino DK WM7 Taupe)
Silvers
Yellow please Drops merino extra fine DK no 24 ‘light yellow’
Then if anyone would like to make rainbow embellishments on squares that would be wonderful, we need them, but just using our yarns as above though pls.
There are many ideas and themes folk may like to work on, but simple squares are as important. Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.
Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.
Please knot off VERY carefully when finishing or changing colour and sew your ends in, thank you! Previous blankets can be seen on our website
When ready for posting, it will be the Teddington address, if you would like to include a card for Twittle and her family, please do.
Sending so much love

My skills really aren’t at the level to join in with this yet, but I wanted to say how beautiful those blankets are and what generous-hearted people you are to make them. Truly heartwarming.

No craft skills here but I've followed this story and would be able to support with funds. How do I do this?

KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 14:40
Twittle says "He was meant to be all wrapped up in blues" so we'd suggest any blue, and also there is the connection to nature too, thank you x
KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 14:41
An appropriate fox colour you say @SoupDragon ?
Um
KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 14:41
Googled foxes
KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 14:43
Its a shame they don't make that 'pumpkin' colour any more, but for this, would probs suggest any of the darker oranges, what about that glorious burnt orange? DB I think?

KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 14:43
