The Blanket for FiveGoMadInDorset and her family, lovely folk, we need help.

Such sad news from lovely FiveGoMadinDorset, her wonderful DH died towards the end of July from the bastard illness which is cancer. We send so much love to Five and her two wonderful children, aged just 13 and 11. Cancer is so cruel, and we are so sorry they are now without him, we send huge hugs to all who love and miss him. Her thread is here… if anyone would like to post.

FiveGoMadinDorset is one of our brilliant Woolly Hugs’ crew, such a compassionate soul who has helped countless families on here and with our other projects too, it’s time for us to do something woolly for her now. We are so glad she has accepted our offer for a blanket for her and the children. Can you help us? We shall need crafters and donors alike.

Five and their children have had a think of ideas to help make this a real tribute to him, a true celebration, and there's lots we hope folk can tackle, but please don’t feel daunted, simple squares are needed too.

I've only just seen this and I can't do anything fancy but I would love to join the Woolly Hugs community - especially for Five who has always been a huge support to me. I have wool.

Does this bird look like a bird? I showed it to you gest DS and he asked me "what bird?" while youngest DD turned it upside down and said "Oh! Snail!"

I think it looks like a bird - put some feet and a beak on it and it will be perfect.

I just finished attatching some FRT’s to a square, only to remember they were my ‘trial’ pair and they’re not the correct wool🙄 what a divy!

I will go and order some of the correct red wool, along with my wool for TQ’s daughters blankets.

Your bird looks more realistic than my rat, which I randomly drew on the board last week whilst trying to explain to my Year 9s how to spell "separately" correctly....

That's how I learned to spell it! Our teacher used to say it the way it was spelled and would emphasise "sepa-RAT-el-ee". I say it in my head even now when I'm spelling it along with "Wed-NES-day" and "defi-NIT-ellie"

There was lots of "what do you mean there's a rat in the middle of separate, Miss?!".

Then I had a very satisfying rant with my colleagues afterwards about definately and defiantly .

@Bearfrills. My accounting teacher had a different method ‘separately’ 2a’s 2’e’s and any fool who can’t get them in the correct place doesn’t belong in my class!

Correct yarn for FRT’s just arrived, so I’ll get on with redoing them & get them attached and in the post!

All done, ready for posting tomorrow. They're not hugely exciting compared to others on here but they'll help set off the others 😁
