Woolly Hugs...We are making a blanket for RubbishMantra : Lovely donors and crafters, we need your help.

We have heard the dreadfully sad news that RubbishMantra’s husband died suddenly last month. Mental ill health is such a cruel and devastating illness. Bless his heart. Bless them both. We send RubbishMantra our love and are so sorry for her loss. She is in our hearts and thoughts.

We are so glad that she has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, we hope it may give whatever comfort it can. There will be love crafted into every stitch. RubbishMantra’s thread is here…

I will co ordinate and Knotty (KnottyLocks) will help you with any queries you may have. We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) Sincere heartfelt thanks. Suggestions for personalisations and motifs
Yin-yang signs were of great importance to the couple
Their Star-signs are Sagittarius and Virgo.
If anyone can embroider onto a square we have their secret nicknames for each other.
He had purple and white roses at his funeral.
They loved their cats.

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Lovely Mantra has been thinking more about ideas for her beautiful Woolly Hug, so we wonder if anyone can make any of these for her? Embellishments or whole squares, we'd love them..

We also have their initials if anyone feels this could be for them, do message us. We can send out yarn to anyone who needs, and are adding in green, taupe, one of our oranges as colours. (obvs rainbow to be done as rainbow colours)

As with the other photos I've posted today, if they look cut if half I can reassure you, they are proper squares! :-)

Here are my squares full of woolly love: Virgo on the left, Sagittarius on the right.

Virgo is flattered somewhat by the photo - faffing with nine bobbins on a 6" square has played havoc with my tension!

Spiral, those are beautiful.

Very late to offer, but I'd like to make a square for RubbishMantra - can provide my own wool.
