Support thread for Mumof2TeenBoys' and Expat's Blankets

Following on from the terrible news of the loss of Mumof2TeenBoys' ds, a new Woolly Hugs project has been started and, as ever, MNers have stepped up to offer whatever little comfort we can to Mumof and her family. We also keep close in our thoughts Aillidh, the dd of expatinscotland, who died yesterday.

We've put together some general info mostly about knitting but with some crochet bits thrown in, which should get you started but please feel free to ask for any help - I'm not sure if the crocheters are going to set up a new support thread but their current one is found here.

Please dive in - we will inevitably end up talking bollocks rubbish at some point but all are welcome aboard.

Yes you can mix them Glaikit, the yarns combine well, Knots has experimented.

Can I ask, in light of Minnie slobbering all over her squares, do the hookers wash the squares before hooking them, or does the whole blanket get a spin cycle before delivery?

No woolly love yet, I bet it will arrive on monday. :)

I don't believe it is washed at any point before delivery Glaikit. the squares are all absolutely treasured and looked after at every stage. The blanket is obv machine washable, just don't think it is done. Maybe wrong though!

I have half-completed a Hello Kitty square for Aillidh's blanket. Apparently she liked Hello Kitty.

Ah no, woollyness will be with me on Monday, I know it.
I did not buy 4 more balls of crappy acrylic for dd1s blanket in the pound shop today, oh no! She has a terrible habit of sharpening her pencils in bed so I won't use anything nice for it. Anyway she prefers the lurid colours, being 7 :)
So that will keep me occupied

Thanks to both my donors, have now in my possession 3 gorgeous balls of Sublime for the blankets, Mumof2's arrived today, Expat's a couple of day's ago.
