Blanket for MrsY and her family. Donors, crocheters and knitters, can you help us?

We have heard the desperately sad news that MrsY has lost her precious baby son Benedict and have offered to make a blanket for her and her family. She is very touched by everyone's kindness, and would love to receive one. Here is the original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

PM me and let me know how you can help, if you need matching up and I will be able to help you

For pictures from previous blankets, see here www.woollyhugs.com

As in the past, the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • or Rowan cashsoft DK

They are very similar and can be combined

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks
  • Cast on 33 stitches
  • 6" squares

The colours for this project
Blues, warm purples, greens, silver and cream

So sad that another blanket is needed Sad Sending love to MrsY and her family.

I have finally started Grin

I feel very special in that I met the lovely MrsY this morning and she gave me a private lesson. It will only be a rather wonky plain square but I'm so pleased I have finally started. I feel so very proud to be part of this special thing.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/05/2012 16:17

I really wish I could have joined you this morning Smile Bloody work! I am so glad you have had your lesson with the lovely MrsY and your needles are now busy!

And MOS - do know a 'wonky plain square' made with thought and love is a very precious square indeed. Smile Thanks

Just thought i would pop in here to speak to the knitters. My mum recently died and i have in my possesion a knitting machine > Ihave no idea how it works ,and have no need for it anyway. If there is anyone local to me they can have it.There are some patterns or something in a bag to go with it. Has to be local as its far too heavy and big to post.Free to a good home or craft group.

KnottyLocks · 24/05/2012 23:24

hello, Mummylin. Thanks for thinking of us.

So sorry to hear about you dear mum. x

I remember your thread at the time and asking how big the machine was to see if I could smuggle it into the house without Dh noticing Smile

If you're happy to let me have a little think, I'll get back to you as soon as I've thunk Smile
