We have heard the desperately sad news that MrsY has lost her precious baby son Benedict and have offered to make a blanket for her and her family. She is very touched by everyone's kindness, and would love to receive one. Here is the original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

PM me and let me know how you can help, if you need matching up and I will be able to help you

For pictures from previous blankets, see here www.woollyhugs.com

As in the past, the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • or Rowan cashsoft DK

They are very similar and can be combined

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks
  • Cast on 33 stitches
  • 6" squares

The colours for this project
Blues, warm purples, greens, silver and cream

So sad that another blanket is needed Sad Sending love to MrsY and her family.

Morning, lovely blanketeers Smile

MOSagain · 14/05/2012 07:58

morning all. Hope my wool arrives with my knitter today. The PO said it should be there Saturday but we know they always lie Sad

JustGettingByMum · 14/05/2012 09:40

Bugger!
The company I ordered wool from for my lovely knitter contacted me on Friday to say there would be a delay,so on saturday I trekked to the big city and bought some. I have posted it off this morning

Got home and logged on, checked my emails and the wool I originally ordered has also been posted direct to my knitter this morning as well

If your name starts with K and you live in the east of the uk then you may get 4 balls of wool tomorrow Blush

MadameMessy · 14/05/2012 09:55

My wool is here! 3 lovely balls, in green, pink and a lovely neutal beigey brown. Thanks so much to my lovely donor, I shall (hopefully) knit up something lovely for you and our Greengoose and MrsY. Thanks

KnottyLocks · 14/05/2012 10:25

Go, Messy, Go!

JustGettingBy, that kind of thing happens to us all! I'm sure we can do a spot of wool redistribution, so don't worry. Smile

Mos - hi! Waves back Smile how's your ds getting on at uni? Mine has exams next week and is feeling a bit sad that he has so many compared to his flat mates
Large supplies of chocolate and treats have just been posted off in an attempt to cheer him up Grin

MOSagain · 14/05/2012 12:14

Hi JGB, he is getting on well. Thank god exams out the way, he had them last Monday to Thursday but all done now until next year. He has decided to stay at Uni for a few more weeks (he wants to get his moneys worth for the board and lodgings he has paid) then home for a long summer. Good luck to your DS for his exams. Blush
