Of course it is. She's a vile bigot and has been shown as such. She has done nothing but harm sensible gender criticals in this country by becoming the face of a movement when she's been so openly racist and homophobic.

Whether or not she was a lovely human being has nothing at all to do with the legality of her case. People whose sense of humour you may revile still deserve justice.

Even the most racist person in racist land deserves to get changed without the presence of a man. And men still can’t become women.

Is she working as a nurse again?

I was just wondering seeing as she's now an established racist wouldn't this affect her ability to do her job? Fife does has some multi-culturism and it is understandable if many foreign patients may not wish to be seen by her.

She had a good old guffaw at a flood in Pakistan for example that killed 1,700 but if she has any patients who lost family members there may not find it as funny as she does.

Good. Awful woman. Has no business being at the forefront of the movement.

What an utterly horrible response @alcovecupboards. Made worse by the fact you were the first responder. Do you know Sandie personally? Do you think the RCN union acted in good faith or are you so en thrall to trans that you are blinded. I do not want a HCP treating me who does not believe in reality of sex - immutable and reality of sex - biological.

What ‘movement?’

I was devastated when I found out my baby had a disability. Does that make me ableist? Or a concerned parent worried about how they will cope in a world where ableist people exist and society is not set up to support them?

Dreadingtheday · Yesterday 18:34

If you take the politics out of this

Take the issue out of it

Just look at it as how a union handles a member query

Some of it right and some of it isn’t

I would want them to say if I had some legal options

I think, if you call your union in a panic and you’re not sure what you’re doing, then you need somebody to state clearly what your options are and some of those options will be legal

This doesn’t look like the place for a calm discussion, though? Quite curious about the implications for unions and members of unions.

We know the misogynistic Dr Upton is working again - a female patient’s husband had to stay with her because he was worried she would be bullied by Upton into having him as a doctor when she asking for a female doctor.

Are you under the impression that people with gay children can't be homophobic? Sandie disproves that helpfully. Or perhaps it's just gay men (or 'its' as she refers to them) that she's homophobic against.

Single sex spaces should be a right for all - even bigots like Sandie. Putting someone who makes sickening racist jokes and finds them amusing as the face of Gender Critical campaigning was an awful decision. But no amount of bigotry will see her called out by the masses on here because she's vocally transphobic and not just GC.

No,that's not so. It’s because of what happened to her at the hands of the transgender doctor, and the hospital. She was bullied and coerced.

Describing a trans person as 'weirdo' and 'it' is transphobic. Hope this helps.

“I’m as gender critical as they come, but…”

Dr Upton has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

From the BBC article:

They [spokesperson for Peggie] added: "It raises serious questions about the value of trade union membership if, when members report workplace concerns, the responsibility falls on them, rather than on experienced and trained union officers supported by internal and external legal teams, to identify the correct statutory basis for potential legal claims."

IANAL, but that was what I picked up from the tribunal. Whether it was union incompetence or discrimination, I would not have felt well-served.

And I wouldn't allow a racist homophobe near me or my children. So it's probably for the best that Sandie isn't working as a nurse.

Regardless of the outcome, the case showed quite how fecking useless the RCN is at protecting its members' interests. I'm grateful to Sandie for putting herself in the spotlight again in the interests of exposing this.

Exactly this.

Arran2024 · Yesterday 18:44

The RCN have removed the pride flag from the building so there is that.

It did seem to be a case of yes we were completely incompetent and did not represent this nurse well, but we always are. Not reassuring as to the value of paying RCN subs year after year. What a waste of money.

A lot of interesting information came out though.

Given the broad application of the word ‘transphobic’ to absolutely anyone or thing that does not fully uphold and promote trans ideology, it does.

@alcovecupboards we see you. En thrall to trans ideology.

I am not ‘ gender critical’. I think Gender critical is becoming a lazy slur.

I do not buy into gender. I believe sex is real.

You have no evidence that SP is a racist homophobe. You have slandered her.

Ereshkigalangcleg · Yesterday 18:49

She asked a man to leave the female changing rooms.

Thats it.

This. A horrible man, based on his own testimony of how he didn’t intend to respect women’s boundaries, who may have made up a story about her patient care to get her into trouble, which if true he’d be on the hook for himself for failing to report it immediately.

MintBird · Yesterday 18:49

It really did. Hopefully the RCN will start selling adult human female merch along with the progress pride tat as they indicated they would be open to.

Yeah, it’s difficult, isn’t it? I can see that she didn’t specifically say “ I need legal advice” in which case they would’ve been obliged to sort that out

But I would hope that a union would look at the legal situation

I’m not sure what to think

It seems like the guy who answered the phone Was just giving the Advice that he would give in any internal dispute and he was dealing with the situation where Dr Upton officially had the right to be in the changing room.

So with all that in mind, it looks like the union have done their job. But that makes it strange that the lawyers took on the case, I mean specifically on these points.

and Upton had already previously told a court under oath he felt entitled to treat women asking for a female HCP only for an intimate procedure, as a “woman”, because biological sex is a nebulous dog whistle or something.
