Now I hope that this person is found safe and well - but this is not a woman! Why is Samantha being described as a woman? This helps no one, neither the person who is missing nor those searching for him.

Why on earth did you get involved if you hadn’t SEEN the posts? You didn’t think it was a bit suspicious that @Alucard55 was too ashamed to admit what they’d said? I didn’t need to present the evidence to you because it happened ON THIS THREAD and I was talking to @Alucard55 about their appalling behavior, not proving something had happened to you when tens of people had already seen it. How do you know “cis” men commit most violent crimes against women? Is there a record of the gender identity of every single attacker? Are you just assuming their gender? What if they are non binary or agender?

Do you think this is a big distinction? Are you still THRILLED you got involved without any knowledge of what had gone on to stick up for @Alucard55?

It does sound an uncomfortable developmental issue for women who suffer from it, and apparently corrective surgery isn’t offered on the NHS unless the consequences are rather severe (extreme asymmetry, inability to breastfeed). This seems odd and unfair when mastectomies are offered to transmen as gender affirming treatment.

The poster doesn’t in fact know, and per capita the limited evidence we have suggests they are wrong. There is certainly no evidence to suggest that “trans women” as a subgroup of men pose any less risk to women and girls than other men.

If you don’t believe me it happened, why don’t you go and ask someone you do trust - Back to Lurk has also seen @Alucard55’s comments and agrees they were not ok.

I agree. So that poster is either being transphobic and assuming that just because someone looks and acts like a man that they are a man, or being transphobic and admitting males are men however they present. The jury is out on that one….

This is nuts. What is more important - finding someone who is missing and clearly vulnerable, or respecting someone's pronouns and identity?

I really hope Samantha is found safe and well - the family must be so worried. Also totally agree that the language is not helpful. The aim of these appeals is to inform the public and let them know what to look for. Man, woman, black, white, adult, child, afro-caribbean, asian, red hair, blonde hair, age. Saying "woman" is not helpful in locating Samantha.

And @Canadanian not one person is going to repeat what was said just so you can report it, get it deleted and then point at all the ‘transphobia’. So try something else. Maybe fresh air.

The missing person is a man. What they believe themselves to be is irrelevant when accurate descriptors matter in missing person cases. Facts are important.
