Linehan who this week called a disabled woman the R-slur?
Who re-ups racist and misogynistic content, objected to the casting of Will Sharp as Mozart because he's "black" (WS's mum is Japanese - I mean, where do you even start with that level of racism?!) And the rest.
Murphy has been accused of past homophobia, has made present-day statements a lot of people see as homophobic.
And both constantly, aggressively attack trans people.
Whereas Macklemore has said "Free Palestine" and talked about the tens of thousands of children murdered by a far-right government. About the boy who was deliberately killed last week for running to help an injured paramedic.
Transphobia is the default position of the current US government. Trans people are facing attacks by governments and the legal system, as well as extreme physical and sexual violence, discrimination and harassment.
People in the UK who hold up pieces of paper supporting Palestine Action are being jailed. The US & UK are still supporting a murderous regime, and anyone who objects to the genocide is labelled antisemitic. Even though conflating the current Israeli government with all Jews is deeply antisemitic.
Murphy, Linehan and the rest aren't being brave. They're not heroes. They're cheering on a far-right campaign against a tiny minority. They sexualise and dehumanise that minority. They aren't going up against entire governments in calling out oppression.
There is a world of difference between standing up for your principles and claiming an entire minority needs to be 'over'.
Macklemore is demanding that the humanity of Palestinians be respected. That they be allowed to live. 80%+ of all buildings in Gaza have been destroyed, and the captive population are being bombed in tents. Women are dying due to the total lack of hygienic care, and many died of starvation so that their children could live. Rescue equipment, when bombed buildings collapse on women and children, is denied access. Most of the female journalists who documented the genocide have been killed.
Whereas Linehan and Murphy make shitty comments about a minority online.
Yeah mystery huh. But here's a clue: people don't like bullies. They admire those who don't treat minorities as hive minds, or claim they are inherently violent and sexually aggressive. They like those who don't attack individuals because of their appearance or for being part of a minority.
Macklemore wrote 'Hind's Hall' to protest the state murder of a terrified little girl.
Linehan wrote an essay about David Tennant being a paedophile. Because DT loves his nb child, refuses to reject them and objects to adults attacking trans kids.
Punching up and kicking down are different things.
