As the title says.

"The act of ‘coming out’ has been at some personal cost, not least now that Labour has drawn on that information to penalise me in standing for the NPF and banning me as a delegate to women’s conference. The party wouldn’t have been able to discriminate against me without trawling through the media to identify articles in LabourList, Pink News and various other publications."

The article says it's because he's trans. It's not because he's trans, it's because he's a man. How often do we have to explain this?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 11/09/2026 17:19

Good! As it's should be because he's a man. He can stand for open NPF seat.

Does Emily think Emily passes abd that they were only outed by dastardly trawling through the media rather than the fact they've been an open TW with a high social media presence & long time involvement in the Labour Party?

WallaceinAnderland · 11/09/2026 17:22

Is Emily admitting that if no-one knew, Emily would have ignored the law by 'contesting reserved seats allocated for women'?

How do you think Emily should know if she passes or not?

soupycustard · 11/09/2026 17:23

God almighty, are these people obtuse or simply liars? He wasn't banned for being trans. He cannot take part because he is male.

It seems that is the gaslighting line we’re expected to swallow, yes.

Soontobe60 · 11/09/2026 17:34

Emily is a father to 2 adult children, lived life as a man, married at 29 and had ‘sex reassignment’ surgery (whatever that means) when he was 44. His wiki page says that he’s a lesbian. So he’s also deeply homophobic.

How do you think Emily should know if she passes or not?

As Emily is blind he would have to rely on the opinion of others although candidly no maturity onset trans identifying male ever passes.

How do you think Emily should know if she passes or not?

due to the fact that emily is a man, he should probably assume that those around him perceive him as a man

simpler all round I'd say

DancingNotDrowning · 11/09/2026 17:57

Emily has been excluded because Emily is a man. Not because he is trans.

this is a pretty tragic case. Emily is blind so must have little idea of how they look. They are very obviously male. It’s sad that no one had been honest with him about that

Hoardasurass · 11/09/2026 18:43

I notice that the article doesn't use his picture, having googled him there no way anyone need to traul through his post and news articles to know he was a bloke

Oh dear, what a shame, never mind. 😁

I'm glad the Labour party have belatedly woken up to the fact that they're supposed to be following the law, just like the rest of us. It's for women only and Women = Adult Human Female, not men.

Daniel Green needs to go back to writing school, Emily's not being 'excluded' because he's 'trans', he's not eligible because he's a man.

The whining from the other side is the predicable pitymefest, I'm a victim, 'exclusion', 'discrimination', I wanna, I wanna, I wanna. 🤮

Excluded from the LABOUR national policy forum?

I mean holy heck, we've come a long way from Madigan right?

yep, that disastrous crowd funder (I've forgotten the name of the woman who set it up, which is probably for the best) was what got me into all this. Cancelled my labour party membership, attended some woman's place meetings and never looked back!

Last i heard a young female student accused him of sexual harassment or assault and was accused of being 'transphobic' for daring to mention his horrendous behaviour.

Wishesandhorses · 12/09/2026 10:07

No mate, you cannot take seats and opportunities from women. They need them, it's not all about you.

And the part about 'they wouldn't have known if they hadn't trawled my social media'..... ffs, if that means what it sounds like, they really are pushing that dishonesty and men with trans identities go hand in hand at all times, so obviously yes no one should or can trust an inch and will have to check. In the massive majority of cases it really isn't going to be hard to know on sight though.

InconvenientlyMaterial · 12/09/2026 10:41

I find it depressing that homosexual men with trans identities aren't more critical of cases like this. They're usually the victims of deeply sexist and homophobic childhoods and whilst I disagree with the ideology and inherent misogyny, I understand the motivation. But dudes like this aren't exactly attempting to escape the patriarchy; they're upholding and perpetuating it, taking all the benefits. If women really did get to "gatekeep" gender (as if we'd ever be granted the power) surely this would be an instant "no" ?

Mirror? Eyes? Sense and logic?

Edited after reading Emily is apparently blind. So that just leaves sense and logic.

I hung on in Labour until 2019 when they very clearly said they didn’t want women like me as members and weren’t that fussed about us as voters.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/09/2026 15:12

Anyone remember that other Labour TRA about the same time? Was quite influential. Heather Peto? Definitely something Peto

viques · 12/09/2026 16:56

I don’t care what Emily looks like, I don’t care if Emily passes as a woman, I don’t even care if Emily has a beard that touches their shoulders. Emily is a man. And that is all that needs to be said about it. Emily is not a woman and should, in the interests of equality and fairness graciously step aside and try their luck at being adopted as a male candidate , or just as a candidate . If Emily is any good and has a proven track record then Emily will be fine, but please don’t take oxygen from an equally able candidate who is actually a woman.

If any member of the Labour Party needs reminding of the very poor way they have supported actual women they should trawl back into their own history, they don’t have to go back far, and remind themselves of the amazing and capable women who have been passed over for cabinet or shadow cabinet office, of the way the oh so inclusive Labour Party has treated talented and extraordinary women who have never been seriously considered for leadership. Castle, Mowlem, Boothroyd, Abbott, Becket,Jowell,Jackson, Ruddock and many others banged their heads on the Labour glass ceiling when it came to being considered for high office both within the party in opposition and government.

It is an affront to these women who have faced sexism and discrimination by their own party that people like Emily have the nerve to even put themselves forward for consideration.

Presumably since Emily bothered to go all the way to Thailand for sex reassignment surgery Emily was always well aware that they were living in a male body. And it’s not just cock and balls, it’s other distinctly masculine physical attributes that are clear enough to anyone, blind or sighted, that distinguish a man from a woman, which as a biological man previously married to a biological woman Emily is no doubt familiar with.
