If we do see it I will be checking on their assurance that no threatening words or images were allowed to be sewn onto it.

By Maugham seems to have at last found a bit of common sense and decided that men with hammers and masks, "kill TERFs" and "arm trans kids" is not a good look (and deleted his BlueSky Account).

Anyone wondering about looking at that hashtag I suggest... not. Before my need for eyebleach became overwhelming, though, I didn't see any evidence that this quilt was actually carried at Trans+ Pride as was apparently the GLP's plan. Maybe it was. (In case MissingLynks actually wonders why we care, I'd summarise by saying that the GLP has become quite the spectator sport.)

Where's the part with the noose for terfs or the one showing a witch being burned at the stake? Or the one showing a female athlete being assaulted and injured by a male opponent? I mean, I feel they're not representing the whole of the rainbow as well as they could have on that quilt.

I asked the question because I genuinely wanted to see how it went and whether threats of violence were avoided.

I don't like the evocation of the AIDS quilt, which I'm sure is as intentional as it is misplaced.

Apart from that, I'm completely meh about them doing it - if they enjoyed it and it kept them busy, fine.

It's not great - not a very high level of imagination and not at all a good level of execution, but again, meh.. they did their best.

This sounds like something completely harmless. Bitterness and ridicule about it doesn't really look very good.

No making up in heads was required - have you seen what BashBack - who GLP has supported has said? Did you look at the picture I linked? Are you not aware of what violent threats and imagery are put on posters whenever there's a joyful trans celebration?
