Most children will grow out of believing they are trans given time. It’s why watchful waiting is recommended. It’s ok to say you understand they feel this way but it’s important to understand the why through talking therapy.

The idea that a child should be set on a path of lifelong medicalisation, possible sterilisation and mutilation of healthy tissues in affirmation of an idea they may very well grow out of given time and support is abhorrent.

It does not apply to individuals at all, outside of workplaces or as service providers.

No. Absolutely not. There's no "feeling" anything in the GC world. There's just "being". Women are women, men are men, all of them can feel anything they want, and can perform gender in any way they wish.

This "feeling" thing is purely gender ideology. It doesn't exist outside of it. You can't impose it on a system where it doesn't exist.

Posters don’t say it is ‘wrong’ to be trans. There is a lot of sympathy for worried family members who don’t want their children falling for an ideology that tells them they’ve been born in the wrong body.

It is ‘wrong’ for men to think they can access women’s spaces by declaring themselves female. I think you also see that as wrong?

It is perfectly okay to call men ‘he’ on these threads and this is often important. For correct data collection and in the case of the young man in the video, those attending needed to know the person was an out of control male for obvious reasons. I don’t like using ’preferred pronouns’ because I don’t like being forced to collude with another person’s denial of reality and because it feels controlling but I’ll just avoid using them full stop.

And no one here believes trauma is meaningless.

Many believe trauma exactly explains why some young people identify as being transgender. Tavistock found high numbers of young people having been in care, or sexually abused or having abusive parents or being autistic as identifying as trans.

However, lying to someone that they can change sex, that removing physically healthy body parts, that taking life altering medications that makes the young person permanently infertile or sterile is not the right answer to the trauma. Support, helping them to accept their sexed body is a better approach.
