I've never tried it with fish finger sarnies but it isn't unlike tartare sauce when I think about it

Exactly! My kids refer to them as posh fish finger sarnies. The kids are adults though and no strangers to a gentle ribbing of Mum. The pint pot of tea adds a flourish.

I was amazed to see on one of my very occasional visits to Blue Sky today that Herbert has got his account back and is happily posting away. What do you have to do to get banned there apart from saying people can't change sex (obviously).

Of course he's back on bluesky. Looks like Aberdeen uni aren't making any decisive action either. It's how these men continue to get away with saying such awful things.

Well. He is a useful illustration of why we don't want these men in women's spaces.

murasaki · 24/07/2026 10:36

You'd think he'd have the sense to stay away from SM for a bit.

Or maybe not.

I assume nothing is going to happen if he's happily posting away.

It's university holidays - an excuse to take time managing the disciplinary process. These processes are not quick even when no-one is deliberately dragging their feet.

Triskellion75 · 24/07/2026 10:46

What a prick.

I would imagine it’s a fairly lengthy process, and wouldn't want to risk making a mistake that could lead to them being taken to a tribunal.

anyolddinosaur · 24/07/2026 11:19

Herbert will probably take them to a tribunal if they do the right thing and sack him. But tribunals dont always award much in damages if someone is sacked for good reason but the process was less than perfect. The reputational damage of not sacking him could be more costly.

I still suspect they'll take every excuse to drag their feet.

Triskellion75 · 24/07/2026 12:17

@anyolddinosaur sniggering at your use of the word 'drag' there. 😆

I go away for a few days, and come back to find this thread is a hotbed of Angel Delight aficionados 😂

They walk among us.

On now on Channel 5 by the way, Josie Gibson is having to subsist on a 1970s diet for a month .

Angel Delight and crispy pancakes have already made an appearance. They're also inflicting it on some modern toot. That's it, traumatise them a bit more

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2026 19:26

Ooh I wanted to watch that

SabrinaThwaite · 02/08/2026 19:31

I spotted that too - strawberry Angel Delight.

So far it’s how I remember 70s shopping and food.

Lalgarh · 02/08/2026 19:33

Toot.

Yoot

The polycule meanwhile is imploding spectacularly as is another bunch connected to some more demented activists

SidewaysOtter · 02/08/2026 22:01

I have never had Angel Delight and I'm keeping it that way.

I won't have a word said against that chocolate sauce you squeezed on ice-cream (I remember a brown conical bottle?) and it immediately set and you had to break through it with the most satisfying 'crack', mind.

Magic Ice? Probably got a different name now.
I used to love Angel Delight as a kid. (Strawberry, chocolate and mint chocolate anyway. Butterscotch and banana were awful I'm not sure what I'd think of it now though.

murasaki · 02/08/2026 22:11

I don't think magic ice exists any more. If it does, I need it back in my life.

Lins77 · 02/08/2026 22:15

Was Instant Whip a similar thing to Angel Delight? I seem to remember it.

Also, did anybody else's mum make "spaghetti bolognese" (I'm not sure any Italian would have recognised it as such) with crispy noodles on top? Or was that just mine?

It's gone, but apparently Askeys do something similar?

Tinned curry! Haven't seen it in yonks. Is it still out there? Be a great stand by.

Anyone remember Frood Mousse? Not sure of the spelling. Quite tangy and citrussy.

I remember Findus Lemon Mousse which came in a sliceable block.
