I'm coming round to the idea that reporting of such events without clarification is entirely intentional. It's very effective in getting readers to draw their own conclusion.

Same here. It was quite annoying to see Gervais being accused of ridiculing trans people when all he was doing was repeating the phrases that trans activists use. Probably a lot of people don't realise that trans activists really do say "her penis" and get angry with anyone who says "his penis" or refers to the trans rapist as "he".

As for clowns...spot on. It beggars belief that it was the prosecuting barrister who said "her penis", not the defence. And said barrister is a recent graduate from Cambridge, apparently. These people are supposed to be the creme de la creme, are they not?

Knowing that your caregivers believe this man is a woman and won't support your privacy, dignity, safety etc (and might even intentionally do a less good job caring for you if you ask them to get the man off the ward) when you're vulnerable is petrifying. Knowing that you don't actually have a "right to choose" because you can't choose to not be on a ward with a man. Or you can't choose for a male doctor/nurse to identify into giving you "same sex" care that's not actually same sex care at all.

No, they aren't! In fact it is apparent these people have had very few encounters, at all, with men claiming trans identities.

The logic seems to be that since transwomen are really really lovely, and only want to get on with quietly living their lives in peace, any man who claims to be a transwoman but does really really nasty things, by definition cannot be really trans. And therefore his crimes have nothing to do with transpeople.
